You would have a little more credit if you at least spelt his name right!

I'd just like to mention that smug spelt backwards is gums.

I don't think anyone is smug in Strictly, (except maybe Craig ). People are nervous and on edge, which can make them seem to behave differently. Some posters in here seem to want to find reasons to hate participants. This isn't Big Brother.

Idon't think either girl will win this year, the public don't seem to be supporting them.

If the two girls are in the dance off next week the judges will probably save Rachel. If the following week Rachel is up against Austin, they will save the man.

Even Tom who IMO is Smuggy McSmug has shown a vulnerable side lately as the competition comes towards the end. I don't find Lisa smug at all, just emotional. As for Brendan, I'm not his biggest fan but he seemed genuinely shocked at their results and the outcome. I would not be upset if Lisa won. Good for her, she's improved lots!

definition of smug is a I beleive complacent self satisfaction - I don't anyone could accuse Lisa of complacency

I like her though I don't think she'll win because she lacks public support.

Now why would I want the classiest and best allround couple out of the competition just because you don't like them and tell me to ?

Grow up and next time have the decency to offer a proper opening post rather than a strop

Lisa is quite tall and as with Jodie those judges love to bring the subject up. If a tall girl isn't elegant with it she is picked on. I quite like Lisa because she just does her best each week and takes the knocks from the judges. Then she comes back next time and performs even better. Len has already said that he would like one of the boys to win and Arlene one of the girls. So I suppose it could the Rachel Austin final as predicted. Yawn.

I want Lisa and Tom in the final - I don't think Lisa is smug at all, I think she's a genuine fan who wants to do really well and has improved, AND she's tamed Brendan

Usually I take great pleasure in hating Brendan but I can't this year, he's been thoroughly likeable

and that cha cha was great, and better than Austin's ridiculous paso

I can't help but notice that most/all of the anti Lisa threads and comments are coming from green eyed females
No doubt throwing their empty celebration & minature heros wrapers in fustration at the screen when she got the highest judging vote

I don't think Lisa is smug. She really doesn't come across as such at all. If anything, and I'll probably get bashed for this, she comes across as extremely vulnerable. Someone who lacks self confidence, someone who is desperate to please infact its the desperation I dislike. I feel the same about Rachel, there's such a air of desperation about the both of them that I find very off putting.

That's what annoys me about the editing. Lisa is known to be a right nutter - she's really funny and upbeat and nothing like the weeping woman they showed. That's not typical Lisa behaviour they showed, it was a few moments of doubt. She's more determind than desperate and I wish they would give the girls better editing to reflect a lot more of their personalities. The boys edits are so much better.

Funny how you see both Lisa and Rachel protrayed very similarly, which makes me think they really DO want a boy winner this year

I don't think Lisa is smug. I think she lets pressure get to her, I think she gets over emotional but I think its geniune and not fake. She seems to be a proper fan, and being in the bottom two is probably the worst feeling for her as she knows the importance of having people backing you. I like Lisa though and even though I know unless somehow she gets a dramatic turn of popularity she's not going to win I'll still vote for her every week even if it is in vain.

Which of the guests was it who said that Lisa needed some men to vote for her?

Yes editing possibly has something to do with it BUT I didn't really want to single out Lisa. I can't say I've really warmed to any of the celebrities this year. Yes there have been some very good dancers and dances but there has been an overwhelming sense of competitiveness that I have really disliked this year. Maybe it has been more apparent this year than most but I just found it very off putting when people started talking about getting 10's in week 3. It just felt like people were taking this more than seriously when in reality its light hearted entertainment.

From mildly disliking Lisa at the beginning, never warmed to her via various shows, I've actually come to quite like the girl, don't see any signs of smugness at all (to all the people who bandy that word around so freely, do you actually know what it means?) Really wouldn't mind her finishing top girl.

She can only win if up against Rachel in the final, not saying she'd beat Rachel, but it appears to be her only chance, same applies to Rachel. Either of the girls up against either of the boys and they appear to be toast.

if it was on Judges votes alone I think she'd have a good chance against any of the others but because the public is involved I think she may struggle getting to the final

Not surprising really. I guess the majority of viewers are women and the overwhelming majority of voters are women. And simiarly, the vast majority of forum members are female............ and well they do love a good gossip and whinge about other women.

I imagine if it was the other way around and there were more male viewers and voters, the blokes might come in for alot more stick.

I think you're right. Lisa is a very good dancer, but she comes across as cold and doesn't engage with the public (neither does Rachel). It's not their fault if they're shy and nervous, but in order to attract public votes you've got to come over well, and neither of them does.
