my beloved dhd 4000 has started to act a little strange

It records fine, all fast forward, pause etc etc all fine

BUT...the hard drive has only a couple of things on it but is showing as almost full and on playback the blue lights arent showing

any ideas?

I've tried restoring factory settings and the software reinstallation....

please tell me its not going to die

''Its quite possible that one of your recordings is 'corrupt'. It might play ok, but when deleted you may find all of your lost space suddenly returns.''

yep !! that was the problem
anyone got any ideas about the blue lights? not essential, but I like them !

There are some settings in the Setup/Features menu to change the appearance of the front panel, namely the blue lights. Choose from Off, Reduced or Normal I think.

yayyyyy !!!!

thanks ever so much, this solved it

must have changed when we restored to factory settings

it would never have occurred to me to look there

Its only a small thing, but it is handy to know when you're in playback mode, wish my Humax had this feature.

I love my dhd so much, superior to anything else !
