I find it hard to believe that Lisa received more public support than Christine this week. That doesn't make any sense at all, especially when one considers that Lisa has been in the dance-off for the last two weeks running!

I'm really beginning to think that the BBC are manipulating the voting figures so that the last four celebs left are the ones who are desperate to win it, in order to create a more intense competition.

Clearly Christine wasn't as good as dancer as the other 4 celebs but people appreciate her not taking herself too seriously and just enjoying the experience, and having a go and doing her best.

As we have seen already with John Sergeant, the judges are not happy to entertain people who are not up to scratch, and they made their views clear again last night.
But the public don't like bullying and would have voted in their droves just to teach them a lesson.

So as we know already, Christine is popular with the public anyway, and after last nights bullying of her, even more people would have voted for her.

So how on earth did she end up in the dance-off with less votes than Lisa?

All we know is Tom definitley got more votes then Rachel AND Christine. christine may have got more votes then lisa but it would make no difference as Lisa had more points from the judges.
We have no idea what the other scores were.
I like Christine but Lisa did dance better then her hence why she was higher up the leaderboard.

Taking into account the numbers we saw a few weeks ago from the People the scores might have looked something like this:

Lisa = 5 + 1 or 2 = 6 or 7
Austin = 4 + 4 or 5 = 8 or 9
Rachel = 3 + 1 or 2 = 4 or 5
Tom = 2 + 4 or 5 = 6 or 7
Christine = 1 + 3 (or maybe 4 due to her precarious position) = 4 or 5

1 = Tom
2 = Christine/ Austin
3 = Christine/ Austin
4 = Lisa
5 = Rachel

Christine may have got 4 (although i doubt it after austins paso) but there is no way she got 5 as Tom must have recieved higher votes then her to not be in the danc e off.

The only way Lisa could have been in the dance off this week, is if the public scored the dances the exact opposite to the judges. Then Lisa and Christine would have the same score!, in any case they would have sent Christine home.

The only way Christine would have been safe is if she could gain the most public votes and for Rachel and Tom to do badly with the public so they would be in the dance off, so we also know that Christine did not come top with the public!

That means that either Tom or Austin is the publics fave!

Lisa 5+1 = 6
Austin 4+3 = 7
Rachel 3+2 = 5
Tom 2+5 = 7
Christine 1+4 = 5

Despite Christine being the most popular female celeb as far as public voting goes (though the only source is the Express figures a couple of weeks back) she was still not getting near to the number of votes Tom and Austin were pulling in.

Of a max of 6 she was only ever likely to get 4 which was not enough to touch Lisa's guaranteed minimum of 6 (5 points from judges, 1 from public).

That's what I meant. The 3 or (4) behind the + were the public vote, the 4 or 5 behind the = were the total scores.

But their votes wouldn't necessarily transfer to anyone. Lots of people, once their favourite goes out, don't vote again. They have a couple they like, but they don't feel passionate enough to vote for them.

I really can't see any of the girls being ahead of Austin and Tom in the public vote.

Christine was the only one who could have been (the other 2 have been in the dance off more than once), but she can't have beaten both of them in the public vote or she would have avoided the dance off.

No I don't think it is. Cos clearly the judges and producers didn't want John Sargeant to stay but the public kept him in (probably to annoy them).

Lisa is a far better dancer than Christine - Christine is a nice girl but she just didn't take it seriously enough and Lisa has improved faster whereas Christine has stayed at much the same level.

I think Lisa deserves her place.

i would be very suprised if austin didnt top the leaderboard last night after his paso. And we know for definite tom got more votes then christine and rachel.
i do think christine was the top girl with votes but not at the expense of the two guys.

I think the voting does stay roughly the same though. I think that Lisa is bottom with the public every week and has been for a while, I also think Rachel is then next to her.

I think Austin and Tom maybe have been vying for top spot (ignoring John) from the beginning with probably the one lower on the leaderboard getting more of the public vote because their supporters tend to vote more often the lower on the leaderboard you are apart from of course, if there's a wow dance like I think Austin's was last night (that only works if you're popular of course )

True what you're saying, but when it starts getting near to the end of the series, most weaker dancers go.

Maybe it's because people get more interested in the dancing. Or there's simply less other dancers to spread the votes across.

I do think a lot of the voting is similar week on week actually. As another poster pointed out earlier, it's very possible that Tom and Austin built up large fanbases in their first two weeks because they were so obviously better than all the other males "on offer". In which case, it's not ludicrous to suggest that those fans are still with them.

Of course the votes are being rigged because the BBC obviously want Rachel/Lisa/Tom/Austin to win because....um....well just because, alright?

And it's all a big phone vote con so that the BBC can get loads of money from vthe phone vote. Well...they would if they actually got any money at all but that's not the point.

Can you please point out where and when Christine was bullied, because I totally missed it. I certainly saw her dance, I certainly saw the judges do the job they're paid to do and give an honest assesment of her dancing - I failed to see them make any personal insults, call her names or beat her up and steal her pocket money - in fact any action that could remotely be called bullying.

The word bullying gets used far too easily these days - Christine danced, danced poorly, judges comments on this, that is not bullying.

My sister, who isn't on the Internet and therefore doesn't see any of this, said yesterday before the results show "I think Christine will go out, she is a lovely girl but her dancing isn't as good as the others".
