Wasn't the dance off only introduced last year? You're right though. There was a dance off in last year's semi final.

But the show is a competition-they say so all the time!

So an element of being scored and judged is required.

Plus, it is subjective to discuss the public vote, because of multi voting.

By that reasoning, say the person who came second in the public vote had fans that each voted twice-and the person who came bottom had fans that only voted once.

They could actually have the same amount of fans-phone votes are not an accurate portrayal of the whole countries views.

Not to bring it up again, but the JS vote proved that. Despite the hype about his popularity-I wonder how many
individuals were voting rather than a smaller number mass voting?

The judges final say balances out the public's ability to block vote, until the final stages when the winner is decided by public vote.

If your favourite didn't get that far then you can still vote for the best, or your favourite on the night.

Last few standing and all that!

I need to go to bed now, and tonight's ep. of Strictly isn't on iPlayer yet, so we'll check what Tess said tomorrow.

To the previous post, I would say that people are paying for their vote so each one should count, whether the person cast 1 or 500 votes, the person is allowed to vote for whoever they want, however many times they want IMHO. (Let's not get into a rich/poor debate now either). The judges basically get two votes of a Saturday evening, why can't the public have the same and/or more to try and (almost impossibly in some cases) see their favourite through to another week?!

Don't get me started on voting for 'your favourite from the few remaining,' because had the judges not had their power we would not have a Lisa, Rachel and Tom SF.

Just a question, as we're all being hypothetical here. If it was proven that for this series of SCD that no individual had voted twice/more in any given week for their favourite celebrity, and the results each week had been the same, how could you honestly justify the SF/Final we now have on our hands??

I was wrong, I misheard what Tess said because I was on this site lol. Tess didn't say anything about this being the last dance-off (more's the pity).
