This is a little place for all of those who have opinions that run contrary to accepted Strictly wisdom accumulated over the seasons.

Do you think Tess has really good dress sense? Do you believe Arlene is quite restrained when praising attractive male celebrities? Do you think Matt Di Angelo deserved 40 for THAT waltz? Let us know here.

I'd like to start by saying I don't believe, nor will ever believe, that Alesha Dixon is the best dancer ever to have appeared on SCD

You're very brave Lorelei Lee! I would duck now if I were you.

btw I agree with you on Alesha. I loved her dancing and personality and can understand why she won last year but I always thought her legs looked odd when she was doing latin dances.

This is like the non-appreciation thread.

But eye-catching title.

Who said she was the best dancer ever to appear on Strictly?

Great idea - I'll disagree with the accepted Strictly wisdom that Rachel Stevens is a great dancer in the same league as Alesha Dixon. She isn't and would need to find a personality to come even close.

I didn't think Matt deserved 40 for his Waltz. I believe it was tactical marking on the part of each judge in order to keep Gethin at the bottom of the leaderboard. I also think some people should let that go, it happened, it wasn't Matt's fault, and he did a cracking performance in the final so who cares?

I thought Austin's Paso and Cha Cha were mediocre performances with lighting, music and his body all being used to fool the audience and judges into rating them highly.

OK, I think the best female dancer ever on strictly was Zoe Ball.

The muppets didn't loose Colin the final.

*applauds* Everyone I've said that to on other forums and IRL has looked at me agog and then shunned me slightly

Isnt this the 'non appreciation' thread ??? mind you I dont mind getting it all off my chest again at some point.

I didn't like Austin's paso and couldn't stand Colin Jackson or his dancing. his rumba was one of the least sexy things I have ever seen.

I like Matt Di Angelo's Waltz and feel he's done a marvellous job, despite thinking in retrospect that he should'nt have scored 40, but paradoxically I think he and Flavia deserved their Waltz score. There, I have said it.

I have more, stay tuned.

I've never registered that Arlene overmarked attractive male celebrities, so I'd go with that one - even Ramps got it in the neck from her when he underperformed. [When I say overmarked, I mean out of the overall markings - you might think most of them overmarked Austin's paso, but she didn't stand out.)

With that, I add Gethin into the list. His Jive had little in content, with repetitions, flashes and lighting, but nothing much and he got a ten. Same with his Paso, lots of flashing lights, and wanton testosterone flying around, and left me somewhat cold.

I agree - I think the muppets seemed almost like an excuse for not winning, when i suspect Darren G had way more votes than him before 'muppet gate' even happened.

I thought Matt's show dance last year was far better than Alesha's.

I also thought Goughie deserved to win.

I like Karen Hardy (going by most of this forum, this is heresy..)

I'm with you on Colin's rhumba even though I think he's probably the most talented male celeb the show has seen - leaves me totally cold never say what the fuss was about with Darren Gough's paso either.

Austin's paso is a marmite dance - totally popularises opinion - I loved it but then I don't really know much about dancing and plenty of people thought it was all flash and no cash.

Good description , all flash and no cash

1.Has anybody else noticed how Rachel can now do all the close romantic stuff now whereas for the first few weeks before the rumba she was really self concious about it. My wife reckons there is 'toad in the hole action' going on between her and vincent!!

2.Also anybody else noticed that Christina (my fav pro) appears to be no longer involved in the pro dances (she was in the audience on Sat). Has she been black balled?

Neither do I. Jill and Colin were better.

But that's hardly heretical, is it?

She's only missed one pro-dance ~ not all of the pro's are in every pro dance. Ian wasn't in the pro-dance either, but I doubt he's been ousted.....

Apparently, she had what sounds like the Strictly lurgy that's been doing the rounds and was given a week off.

This is NOT the non-appreciation thread because it is for the purposes of expressing an opinion against the 'very widely accepted' version - not just for ranting about things you dislike

So there is a difference and I'd appreciate not being merged

I will go with you on the first two but may have to consider burning you at the sparkly stake for the last one
