My trouble is my favourites have now left.
So I either stop watching or have that little niggle in my head that reminds me I liked Jodie and Christine.

I sympathise. My favourite is Lilia, but I like everyone on the show, so I still enjoy it.

This is a digression into philosophy, but I found years ago that changing to looking for the positives was a better way for me to go.
I still see the negatives, but concentrating on them I found was not good for me, so I find my change of attitude helped me enjoy life more.

They are mirroring.

All they can "tell" is what it would mean if they were omitting the same emotion or lack of. In conclusion, when people say "she/he looked cold, arrogant, smug, spoilt" etc. it only reveals something about them, not the celeb in question.

Don't get me started on Jodie again.

YES! Thanks.

But who knows exactly what they look like when feeling X or Y emotion? Unless they carry around a little mirror for key events in their life.
I agree the comments about what viewers believe they see are about them not the contestant.

I hate it when people seem to think they know the innermost workings of someone's mind by "reading" what they do on TV, especially under moments on extreme pressure or stress like the dance-off. She might not have been looking at Christine beccause she knows she would cry or something, or because she was really concentrating on holding it together, or because she was really disapointed, who knows?! Would YOU come across as perfect and selfless and wonderful (as many of you seem to think Christine is ) in the same position?? I know I wouldn't, and I doubt the "Hatahs" (lol) would either.

I watched the Simon Amstell interview someone posted and I think Rachel was fine. I don't see all the fuss about her being humourless and rude on that one interview...so she isn't a comic genius or particularly loud and bubbly, not everyone has to be. She was sweet and personable enough.

She only got good scores for one dance - who says they work the hardest? she doesn't have a day job or 4 kids to look after! I think she is spoilt & a bad sport!

I'm always torn between two poles on this one. A massive S Club fan, and a huge, huge fan of Jo O'Meara's it always makes me upset to hear Rachel slating her or at least being pretty standoffish about her because of their ongoing feud..

Of course a lot of it will be media spun, but the argument happened and that's that. My equally S Club obsessed friend also had a bad run in with Rachel.

I don't think she's a bad person, nor an ice queen. But her flaw certainly seems to be this argument with Jo.

I disgagree with the majority of this thread though; she seemed perfectly lovely in that Simon Amstell interview.. and she would have looked smug if she "knew she was going" and looked over to Christine. I actually cheered for Rachel when I noticed her consoling her after Christine was voted off..

Rachel to win!

Although Rachel seems to be very good ,technically, in her ballroom dances, she has worn very long dresses these past 2 weeks which have made it difficult to see her footwork - surely this is unfair???After all, the male celebs have nowhere to hide........

Is this Jo O'Meara of CBB racist bullying fame? She could start an argument with a tea-pot.

I can't stand her. If Rachel didn't like her ( & I don't believe a word of cleb gossip in the media), she'd be entirely justified.

Well I was in tears at home with the emotion last night,so I cant imagine what it must have felt for the 4 of them. I am sure it must have been a struggle to contain their emotions. Ifound it all lovely, with Christine and Vincent holding hands before teh dance off and all of them hugging before and after they danced.

I would think she was scared of crying again, especially if she read some of the mean threads posted on here after her last dance off.

I cant begin to imagine the emotions they must feel and think they all do well to hold it in as much as they do.

Yep is it, and it would never occur to me LOL!

Of course I have to go by my own observations as I don't know Rachel personally, so I have to go on what I see. Afterall it's the little things that count.

Not that I've noticed tbh! And you are entitled to say what you like as that's what you see and feel, and no you didn't call her names or swear - but your post was a bit of a rant!

I was blubbing as well - the bit where a couple leave is one bit of SCD that doesn't change thank goodness.

I agree entirely. People who criticise Rachel don't even seem to be able to achieve internal consistency. If she "doesn't show her emotion in her face" or is "dead behind the eyes" while dancing, it is hardly surprising that her face isn't a mirror of her heart when under stress either.

Leave the poor girl alone!!

I cant warm to either of the girls.

Lisa I find false and always wanting the sympathy vote with the tears.
Rachel - I just get nothing from her at all, its like dancing by numbers.

Both Rachel and Lisa, dont seem to have the public vote.

I think Lisa will go next week
Tom week after than

Rachel and Austin final. with Austin to win.

I do think her reactions to being in the dance off suggested she had become too content and assured that she would get through. She seemed surprised, as if she hasn't realised already that being in the middle of the leaderboard is a dangerous position to be in. She also ignored Christine, I thought it would have been nice if she had looked at her sympathetically or something. I can't warm to either of the women left in the competition, hopefully Lisa will go this week and Rachel next week. I'd love to see an Austin and Tom final.

I think that was the most graceful exit Strictly's ever seen. Yay Letitia!

Honestly I think Rachel is an amazing dancer, and a very sincere and humble woman. I find it bizarre how all these assumptions are thrown around about her (and Lisa!!) How can we assume, based from what very little we're shown, that they're "smug", "insincere" or "spoilt". They all seem well aware of the fact they could be leaving the competition in the coming weeks, and they all seem to be genuinely enjoying the Strictly experience without taking anything for granted.

How is she spoilt?
She's lovely woman and she's clearly a fantastic dancer!
