Nokia 3310 Problem

I have a Nokia 3310 as a backup on ASDA Mobile and a Sony Ericsson W580i on O2 is my main phone. Anyway...

The Nokia 3310 i have will not charge with the official Nokia battery (kept from a broken Nokia 3310 i had along with its charger) it just goes BEEP!! quite loudly and says "Not Charging" and it even does it while its off. But it will charge with the non official battery which came with it when i got given it to use as a backup.

I have found out:

Neither of the 2 Nokia (official) chargers will charge the official battery (weird)

Both chargers will charge the non official battery (even more weird)

So what's the deal here?

That sound easy to answer. The non-charging battery has reached the end if its life and will no longer charge.
