And also with Christine Beakley? I was watching the One Show and they announced they are releasing a Christmas single too. This could be the hottest battle for the number one spot since Blur v. Oasis in the mid nineties...

The one JS has recorded is the One Show's single:

"Former Strictly Come Dancing contestant John Sergeant has recorded a Christmas single.

The political journalist teamed up with The One Show's Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley to make the charity record
."

He appears regularly on the programme and has obviously had a part in the single along with other regular presenters who appears on it, too.

It won't be a battle at all because as usual the bl**dy XFactor single will be the Christmas No.1.

I wish the music industry would ban the XFactor from releasing a single until after Christmas to give other people a chance.

With his voice he could have done something in the style of Leonard Cohen

Me too. I like the X-Factor but I hate their automatic dominance over the Christmas number one spot. It's not right.

Is there no end to John Sergeant's talents? He can't dance, and I very much suspect he can't sing either - it's just another attempt by him to draw attention away from Children in Need which is what he suceeded in doing with all the fracas over him in Strictly. For God's Sake John do the decent thing for once and let a well established and much loved charity get the number one for Christmas. Terry Wogan commented that more news space was given to JS and Strictly than CIN that weekend and it seems that JS has no intention of going quietly.

to be fair John isnt the only one involved. Its the whole of "the one show" so Christine and Adrian as well.
Its just John is the most high profile of the three so is of course getting allthe head lines about it. Its for charity as well so good luck to them. I dont really see the problem with the one novelty single, just as long as it doesnt turn into an album by "the one show"

JS haters just never give up, do you?

1. It's not his idea - it was decided by The One Show, and he was invited to be on it along with the other contributors.

2. Far from drawing attention away from Children in Need, that is where any proceeds from the song will be going.

Why not check your facts before having a misinformed rant?

I see you are digging up the JS threads just as you did on the BBC boards AJ.

It wasn't JS's record. It was from The One Show and John was in it for a nanosecond/ Christine was the one featured more and the writer of the song whose name escapes me.

It peaked in the 100s I believe.

You could say so. Loads of threads and posts dominating the boards which really started to annoy forum members who had been on the BBC forums for years.
