I am actually not convinced it will be as JS has indicated it ends badly, its likely FK is long gone by the time Craig gets back. If not well its a one horse race.

I really don't think they took the petition in consideration... petitions 20 times bigger than that one have been completely useless... most petitions are. How many petitions actually work? Pretty much none. And this one was extremely small.
I think the intention was never to kill FK to begin with, but there were rumours to blur things up...and now, they are giving a nod to the fans, as recognition to their support!

To say they've changed their mind because of an online petition signed by a few dozen people (or however many it is, I haven't looked) it a load of bull. The priest is a plot device in Niall's story. What ever they had planned for him they'll do.

And Sharon Marshall has got many a thing wrong, so I never take a blind bit of notice of her. She once said Sean (in corrie's) ex, Louis, was coming back in and they were gonna be a long term couple. I remember that vividly

Sean's ex was in two episodes. She said he was gonna be a long term couple with a vet last year. The vet was in 9 episodes. And I just know that cos I watched Corrie back then so I never knew about stories to do with other soaps.

I think the soaps tell this woman things for fun!

I still think they're killing off the priest, cos it was always intended, as was noted in that post last November, 2 months before he even appeared.

Either way, James said it ends badly and that's all that matters.

And if, as I've just seen on a post, it'll be a triangle with Craig, I hope Guy stays away from such tripe.

To be honest I don't think it matters whether they did or didn't take the petition into acount - if they're not killing off the priest I'm glad cos I don't want the spectre of it hanging over John Paul and Craig!!!!

You can see the bad ending from where it's up to now, all the things they are adding to it now they've pledged undying love! Can only be downwards from there, really!

Half the village already know the sordid secret but for a reason that can only be to do with the ultimate revealing of the truth, no one is saying a word, even though three of the biggest gobs in Hollyoaks (Kris, Mercy and Kala) know about this scandalous business. No WAY would they keep quiet about it! Unrealistic writing, but for the climax of this, they are required to keep quiet.

And of course,. Myra has been added to the mix now, with her sacred confession to the priest who unbeknownst to her is not only gay, he's shagging her beloved son .... and Elliot will follow ... who will bring in Sarah (that can be the only reason that had Elliot and Sarah make up) and presumably ignite the hatred she still has for JP over Craig. To find out he's using geeky little Elliot to cover up some affair he's having - she's bound to find that much out - well ... who knows what that will lead to!

There is no happy ending on the horizon with these two. Not the way this is being written.

With JP and Craig, only one other person had to find out (Sarah) before the entire village knew. This is so much the opposite, with every one in the village knowing before the Sarah of this story - Myra - finds out - that it can only lead to a very disasterous (or explosive, as has been the word used) outcome that will definitely not be happy ever after for the priest and the teenager.

we just have to be patient for a while longer - the reveal episode i think will be great to watch as we're gonna get load of myra and jp scenes i reckon!!

Exactly! The whole thing is stupid! He's a plot device brought in for one storyline. Once it's over he'll be gone. He will be too digraced to show his face anywhere around HO, and the McQueen clan would drive him out anyway!

People treat him like a proper priest. When they know he's gay and has been shagging JP for ages, no one will treat him with warmth and affection. to say the least! Even someone like Frankie would he disgusted with him - this dirty priest actually christened Charlie! - can you imagine her reaction? Everyone will feel something like that, cos they all treated him with a degree of reverence cos of his position as a priest.

If they keep him on, HO will be a bigger joke than it is already with this storyline. 'Lost the plot' would be an apt description, in fact.

I see so much of the John Paul/Kieron relationship as John Paul simply settling. Back in September, John Paul stood up for what he thought was right for him--he wasn't going to be the 'woman' in the relationship (remember the conversation on the bridge where Craig's vision of their future together revolved around Craig providing for them), he wasn't going to be anybody's dirty little secret, and he wasn't going to settle for any less. While it was probably the right thing to do (especially given what he knew about Craig and Sarah and what he didn't know), I think John Paul anymore sees his decision to end things with Craig as only resulting in a broken heart and an empty bed.

Fast forward to this spring, and John Paul is basically doing everything he said he wouldn't--the domestic scenes from yesterday are almost like something out of the 1950's (or the one opening scene awhile back where Jake and Nancy were portrayed in some horrible 1950's nightmare of rigid gender roles), John Paul as much as he wants to tell people is allowing himself to fall into the role of dirty little secret, and he's definitely settled for far less than he deserves.

I don't really see Kieron and John Paul as some passionate love among equals--it's almost as though John Paul glimpsed a vision of what life in Dublin with Craig would have been like where he plays a limited, almost marginalised role (and one that I suspect would have been completely inaccurate) and is trying to recreate a pale version of it with Kieron.

That said, I hope Craig (assuming he comes back) comes back for more than an episode or two. I'd like to see John Paul stubbornly clinging to Kieron for a bit, refusing to have anything to do with Craig--then John Paul realizes what a horrible mistake he made in September (though obviously a mistake based on incomplete info), goes to Craig to apologise but Craig says there's nothing to apologise for--they were both idiots and maybe they really needed the time apart to figure out themselves. Then cue tears and snogs and JP and Craig waking up all loved up the next morning.

WOW! I have been out with my mum for her bday, had a great time and then I come back to the news that I was sooo sure was the case. Like Dee and I think Lin, I have been convinced for ages that they weren't going to kill him off and were never going to kill him off.

This isn't a love story. Simple as that, whether the actor stays or leaves, this SL is not going to end with them together.

It most assuredly doesn't change the ending, but I DON'T think Kieron will redeem himself - he just won't die!

As I said in a previous post and earlier today: death isn't the punishment, living IS! That's what I'm pleased about: that both JP and K will have to deal with the consequences of their actions!!!

And I still think K will leave the show.

IMO it's all been a huge PR coup to draw attention to the Niall/et al SL which clearly ALSO incorporates the stunning return of CD and the glorious SE! All planned IMO...

I maybe could have bought this 2 months ago before they really started developing the relationship....after this weeks eps I think the EXACT opposite of what you are saying, but that is just my feeling.

One other thing... re petitions and I include the SE ending one as well (which I think is fab and totally support!!!)...it is the death knell of any show to take TOO much interest in any section of a fanbase online. I am a total SE person but if the show didn't want that ending we wouldn't get it, if they want it, it will happen.

Yes, from what I can gather it was implied that the petition had saved him from death, but from the tenor of the posts here no-one is clear on whether that also keeps him on the show. Pretty sure it doesn't, since the 'petition' had no effect on the decision making process in any case

I am getting a very strong sense they may well prefer for him to have been killed off as I don't think this is equalling a happy ending for JP/K, quite the reverse actually but then that is just how I see things!!

If JP doesn't die, I'm pleased, because maybe we can get an ending everyone wants...(to a degree). And we get to keep Niall. However, I'm fairly sure the plan has not been changed, so if he lives, he was always going to. As for JP ending up with K, er...no. Don't think so somehow.
