Remember the days when...

I joined this forum at the beginning of Series 3 when these boards were a very different place, and SCD was a much smaller show!

Don't get me wrong, it's lovely that so many new posters have joined, and that SCD has become the monster () that it now is. But I was just reminiscing about the old days on this forum and on the show.

Remember the days when...

- There were only ever two pages of threads on the SCD board.
- It was possible to read every post on every thread and still get some work done.
- We were special enough to get invited to be an audience for It Takes Two!
- The board was blue, and the day it turned pink!
- There were so few members that each time a new member posted, they were personally welcomed by the others.
- The word smug was never used.
- There was no X-factor to rival SCD.
- Getting a 10 was like gold dust and only ever seen in a final.
- Even bad (but entertaining) dancers sometimes got through to the final without a national outcry.

Anyone else?

As Fonzie would say, "Happy Days."

BTW - who was on the ITT audience?

I think it is the relatively high percentage of 10's being handed out that makes me nostalgic for the old days.

Too too many. Yes the final four dance to a high standard...but is it that high?

The judges are too slick now also - I miss their tatty mismatched outfits from the first series when they all looked a bit more homely. Nice!

ah yes

and we had our own DS viewers panel

DS posters went up against celebs in competition and got to pat Craig with blindfolds on

Agreed ~ as evidenced by the over-use of "hate", "bashing", "jealous", "smug" & "bullying" on the forum nowadays.

Edit: Oh, and all the conspiracy theories too!

Matt Cutler had DARK hair and Craig & Bruno sat in each other's seats (well on the first show anyway!)!

I've done my list for the All Time Ranking Couples thread and it was a great excuse to watch old clips on YouTube when I couldn't remember the couple's dances! So hard to believe 74 couples have taken part and I'd say SCD didn't do much for most of their careers!

Me!

I went to the special extra ITT after Darren and Lilia won.

I have to say I do remember a fair old outcry when Chris Parker got through to the final!

I remember the days when SCD wasn't even a forum. It was a single thread in the Reality TV section.

I remember the days before it went pink.

I remember being on the ITT thread the day DS forumers were on the panel. Can't remember who, though Lady Boz and Happyfeet sound possible.

I was just thinking about this the other day! That nude lippy was done to death!

There was a 'Claudia fashion watch' thread for a while, wasn't there?

Happyfeet had to drop out as she had her final medic's exam at Cambridge soon after. I remember she came on after a few months and announced she was now a doctor.

Wasn't Quizmike on the quiz?

That's wrong I'm afraid. Their first series was in 2004.

The only series of SCD not to be pitted against it was series one which screened over the late spring/early summer of 2004.
