Remember the days when threads weren't in parts? Wait...that was just last month.

Who was that poster who kept wanting JLC back instead of Claudia? Think she had Nat in her username.

I think it is Minihoy - she always used to sign off her posts as Nat.

I think I started coming on here towards the end of series 2..but definately series 3 so quite near the beggining Its been great reading this thread and I definately remember when some of the people from here were on the alternative panel and mentioned on ITT - good times

Although I still really enjoy it now - but its weird to think how many years have passed, Only feels like the other day I used to come on here and gush about Zoe and Ian

Don't get me wrong, it's lovely that so many new posters have joined, and that SCD has become the monster () that it now is. But I was just reminiscing about the old days on this forum and on the show.

Remember the days when...

- There were only ever two pages of threads on the SCD board.
- It was possible to read every post on every thread and still get some work done.

- We were special enough to get invited to be an audience for It Takes Two!
- The board was blue, and the day it turned pink!
- There were so few members that each time a new member posted, they were personally welcomed by the others.
- The word smug was never used.
- There was no X-factor to rival SCD.
- Getting a 10 was like gold dust and only ever seen in a final.
- Even bad (but entertaining) dancers sometimes got through to the final without a national outcry.

Anyone else?”

The reason I joined DS was to contribute to both the BB and SCD forums.....and DS greatest attribute over other forums was the distinct lack of duplicate or multiple threads on the same subject. Over the last 2 years the propensity of Duplicate threads on the BB forum has driven me up the wall........(threads could literally be relegated to page 2 or 3 in 5 or 10 minutes) and sadly this trait has now found it`s way onto this(SCD) board....although it has to be said it`s no where near as bad......however neither board comes close to the X-factor forum when it comes to members starting duplicate threads......What really gets on my wick though is the downright nastiest of some posts.....and regrettably this forum can at times feel more like the BB board.....in fact there were times during last years series when this place spewed forth more venom than the infamous BB forum itself....well IMO anyway.....and I have to say much of it came from posters that were hard core strictly fans and were only to quick to profess their hatred of BB and yet the tone of their posts would have resulted in a ban if a similar comment had been made on that forum. So sadly this place is no longer the pink and fluffy haven it used to be when I was a lurker...2005/6

Hi Folks

Been busy tackling conspiracists but could feel my ears burning.

Hi Mimi,

ITT as we know it only came into being in series 2. For series one, JLC hosted a companion show on BBC3.

I LOVED when they went to Blackpool

I didn't join until Series 4.Although being a Matt Dawson fan was scarey stuff and I mostly stayed on the Lilia thread

Far left is Startwirler she and Lady B hang out on the Warm and tranquil thread.

Started as a safe haven away from the nasty threads.

It was never like this in the old days

I remember going to ITT and meeting the lovely Shappy

Oh what a brilliant night that was, we chatted to Claudia and met her little boy, eyed up Will Young , had a ball with Bill and Karen, and weren't allowed to stand near Evander Holyfield

I was there with Shappy, Kaos and Remi, amongst others. Kaos's dad had driven her hundreds of miles to London and we had coffee in a Costa in Covent Garden when they arrived- oh happy days

I remember when the standard of dancing was generally so poor everyone raved over wooden Natasha K.

I remember when the 'Strictly chat' show was run - and sent up horribly - by some loud-mouthed comedian with long hair.

BUT....

I remember when there were 2 series in 1 year - hooray - instead of just 1 - booo.

Not directly Strictly related...but.............
Remember the days when we sat and actually watched a TV programme instead of having one eye on the TV, the other on the computer screen and two hands typing as fast as possible.

I don't know tbh but this is him with dark hair in series 3 - he was blond by series 4!

It was quite dark in 1992 (beware of scare looking Ian in the same clip!), but he was blond when he won the 1999 world amateur championship!

Flippin' 'eck! I think you must have ESP or something the way you find your way to a thread so fast that mentions him LOL!

Do you know what a jellus hata is btw?

I'll answer for kittles.

A jellus hata is BB forum speak for a "jealous hater".

On the BB forum it is quite usual to "hate" someone (for example somone called Clive). You will have threads enititled "I Hate Clive Coz He Likes Cheese And Onion Crispz" and such

However fans of Clive will jump on them for being a hata (hater) and it's just because they are jealous (jellus) because Clive is better than their favourite.

Hope this helps next time you are on the BB threads

Remember the days when...we had a three-way final.

When Len and the other judges judged and kept their comments for the show or ITT

Before judges moaned nationwide on the news and radio about it not being about celebrity but dance

When the judges were not trying to be wannabe celebs themselves

When BBC2 off shoot show featured Justin the Headbanger who now co hosts The Friday Night Project with Alan Carr
ah the good old days
