When showing a HD DVD It always shows a margin top and bottom.
Is there any way I can make it fill the whole screen?
Thanks

Zoom in your player or TV menus, unless you have it set up wrong that is probably the way the movie is intended to be watched.

A movie can have an aspect ratio even wider than a 16:9 widescreen TV so it is perfectly normal for there to be black bands top and bottom.

The 350 does have a Pan and Scan option in the settings menu. But that only applies to 4:3 TVs. The manual doesn't seem to mention any zoom option for the 16:9 TV option.

And off topic. All the pictures of the 350 show it having a blue front. So how come mine is black? Or is my eyesite going??

The centre perspex type strip is blue tinted but looks black at a distance or in all but bright light.

Not had a lot of bright light so far since I got it

And I can't be a***ed to get a torch out to prove it. Mind you even up close and personal with it the front still looks black. And there is a black dot on the barcode label, don't know if that signifies anything or not.

But then, whether it's balck, blue or sky blue pink with yellow stripes, I bought the thing to watch DVDs on, not stare vacantly at the front panel

Blu-Ray only. You don't think Sony, inventors of Blu-Ray, would support the rival format surely Especially as they have well and truly won the format war. Look at it from their viewpoint, why support a dead format in a new machine?

BTW, if you don't like buying totally online check out the Comet website. If they are still doing the online discount you can get one for 190 quid (ish) and collect from a real shop. I did this on Sunday. Went online and through the order process, entered a discount code to get 30 odd quid off then select Click and Collect.

Half an hour later it's down the local Comet, flash the plastic and some oik goes off down the back of the warehouse to dig out a box. And it's under the telly a shed load quicker than any delivery service As far as I could tell it was the cheapest way to get one from a real store, probably shave a few quid off buying totally online I accept. But then can you get it under the telly in an hour?

Or you could buy it from Richersounds for £159.95 & they should match the Amazon price of £154.77 & give you a further £10 off
