Christmas Food
We're having our Christmas meal on the 14th of December, becasue my mum goes into hospital for an operation on the 18th. I'm in charge of cooking it, and I was hoping for any really special tips to make it a really great day, becasue it might be her last one and she'll never eat proper food again.
We're having turkey, and I was hoping for any really special recipes for any Christmas food, especially a pudding. I was also thinking of little tips to make decorations, table dressings, fancies and crackers etc. I'm going to put this is food as well, but I was looking for more that just 'food' things, and I don't really know how active it is over there... but thanks for your help! PS. I'm a good cook, pretty much able to make anything and time, money and assistants are no object. We're going all out. |

My goodness, no pressure then for the perfect meal. I wish you all the best with it. I am going to try the Nigella way of doing turkey this year, having read in several other books than brining the turkey first makes a big difference to the moistness of the meat.
I think it will be special enough for your mum to have her family around her without too many extra things, and also to know that you are doing this meal for her. I really wouldn't worry about doing anything else, just your normal Christmas meal - I am sure she will be thrilled with that. I know I would be if I was in the same situation. Just make sure you are not stressed by over stretching yourself and make sure you can enjoy the day with her. I think that is the most important thing. I really hope that the occasion goes well for you and that your mum's surgery is successful. |

What does your mum like for pudding? I have a great recipe for an apple and cinnamon cake. I'm happy to send you the recipe if you want.
I hope you and your mum have a lovely time! |
