i have a Bt Standard phone socket in the living room a couple of days ago i was told by sky to make sure both the sky boxes in the house were connected to the phone line, i went about connecting each box to the phone line. I went out to the shops and got a 3 way phone adopter, i plugged in the normal cordless phone in the front room and then then both sky boxs. Now this morning my mum said people were not getting through i tried calling the landline phone on my mobile but it kept saying Number Busy. As soon as i took both sky box phone lines out there wasnt a problem. There wasnt a problem yesterday and people were getting through. Is it not possible to have 3 phone lines going into 1 socket via a 3 way adaptor.

Yes, it most certainly is.

Try a process of elimination - disconnect everything and then plug the items back in one-by-one and check you can ring in as each item is added.

if sky are calling you and telling you to connect your sky boxes to the phone line then you must still be in the sky
contractual period, its probable that one of your sky
boxes is faulty and 'looping' the line, in other words
making your line 'busy' to incomming calls, you may
also have problems making outgoing calls....
you need to call sky and tell them to sent you a new
sky box ( as it must still be under guarantee if they
are bugging you to connect the box to the line ) or
leave em disconnected and when sky call (again) tell
them you cannot connect them to the phone
line as they introduce a fault onto your phone line and ask them to come out and fix it

Well today ive just connected the lines from the box to the main Bt Socket and theres not a problem i phoned the house phone from my mobile and my mum could hear me. Also i tied to make a call and no probs there. Sky have told me that they do call backs evry month to the boxes so they know there location. if the boxes are not connected i will incur a £37 fee onto of my monthly bill. Will see how things progress.
