I just got this phone today and havin mixed feelings about it - wat do you think about the phone ?

the k850i was a bit of a disaster when it was first released, because it was really buggy.

since then they have sorted out glitches with firmware updates, so check your phone to see whether it's got the latest firmware.

K850i firmware overview - looks like the latest is R1FA035

if you have only just got it, and it's with a network, usually you are given a trial period when you can return it (as long as in undamaged as new condition with all packaging and accessories, blah blah blah) & exchange for a different phone, if you decide you don't like it after all.

I originally got this phone because I had a K800i which was absolutely brilliant and I thought the K850i might be even better.

It has some good points. And it has some bad points.

It's a great camera, it's nice to text with (useful because I send nearly 3000 texts per month), it has loads of features and it's generally a good phone.

The bad points: it's hopelessly unreliable. I had 3 replacements and the one I currently have has been back for repair twice. The touch sensitive buttons I've had 2 different problems with - not working and pressing themselves. The firmware (especially the early versions) crashes for a hobby. And then the firmware corrupted itself randomly on holiday leaving me out of contact with my boyfriend and having to use my work phone.

That was the last straw and I bought myself a SE C902 which has been much better. Perfect in fact.

The K850i is a great phone sometimes, but I'd never get another one. Having said that, I'm keeping it as a spare.

My K850 was so good it went back 5 times and the last time I told them they could keep it as it isn't really much good as a paperweight and that's what it kept turning itself into.

Using my trusty K800 now, it beats its rival hands down.

I have never owned a K850i, but have a few friends that have and none of them would recommend it. As others have said, they have all had to be returned multiple times. The same can be said of my W880i I had which was always back being repaired.

If I was you I would take it back now while you can.

I loved it when i had this phone but i have since moved up to a C905 which is a much better phone

i advise to return it and get a C902/5 which are a much more reliable phones. Though it has great features - nice camera, xenon flash etc my K850 has been repaired 4 times and is still crashing often.
