Hi, Im new to this forum and wondered if anyone could help what seems a complete technophobic!!! I honestly didnt think I was that bad until I tried to connect my new home cinema system 
I bought a 42in LCD TOSHIBA 42XV555DB to replace my 32in JVC Dolby set which sounded great but was bulky and starting to flicker. We asked about surround sound as the JVC came with 2 speakers and a woofer and thought thats what we were getting when we were sold a Panasonic SC-PT160. How things have moved on!
We didnt want another DVD player and definately not another remote control as thats 4 now!
Anyway I set it up, used the audio cable that was sold to me as well and I had analogue tv channel coming through the amp/dvd, sky coming through the TV and to turn the volume up I need to use the new remote but to change channels the sky or tv remote which changed the tv channel but not the channel coming through the amp.
This TV only has 2 scart plugs, which I never thought to ask about, what have I done wrong?
Also can I just buy additional speakers and a woofer and have it just like my old tv or is that a daft thing to do and if so could I buy some sort of connector to make use of the JVC ones?
We have a dvd/video player and I dont want to lose my video player, normal sky (at the mo) and the TV oh and now this aditional dvd/amp thingy and I forgot a Wii.
