Hey there.

Before o2 it was BT Cellnet, One2one was T-Mobile. Anywho.

As far as I am aware most networks charge around £7.50 (monthly one) for data boltons, or £1/£1.50 a day. However not sure on the data allowences, I think it's around 500Mb a month.

I only know about Oranges free text scheme, £10 = 300 texts £20 = 600 texts £30 = Unlimited (FUP of 3000 texts).

You can also get 2for1 on Cinema tickets so you can take a freind. Also the text reports are great, it tells you when someone ACTUALLY received the text.

Sorry I couldn't be help on other networks, all I know that 3UK has a cheaper data allowence a month, but afaik they don't do text/minutes allowences unless you pay for a stretch.

Vodafone Simply is a Pay as you talk price plan with no fuss - and a choice of great extras.

Text Unlimited makes a £5 TopUp go much further - we'll reward you with unlimited weekday evening texts. And if you top up over £10, you'll get free texts at the weekend as well.

Like to chat at weekends? Spend £5 of your TopUp during the week and you can get free calls and texts to any UK network, all weekend long.

Don't need Text Unlimited or Free Weekends? You still get a great deal. Call any UK mobile or standard landline for just 20p a minute - any time. Texts are just 10p each.

You can even make international calls from 5p a minute - with a minimum call charge of just 20p. Call landlines in China, Nigeria, Poland, Pakistan, Lithuania, India - and lots of other places.

You say you spend £10/month on phone?

If you were a Virgin cable customer then on Virgin Mobile you could get 300 mins/300 texts for £10/mo.

They also have "pay as you go" mobile broadband (for your phone) at 30p per day, the limit being 25MB I think.

For customers they also do mobile broadband dongles (for laptops) which give 1GB traffic for £5/month.

How on earth could you use 1GB a day on your mobile? I don't use that on my home computer! My mobile data usage is about 20-30MB a month, and I have it set to push my email to me once every couple of hours.

Everyone's come out with some really good suggestions. But I would recommend checking out the network coverage in the postcode area's your most likely to use the phone in before spending any money. You can do this by visiting the Service Provider's website's & selecting the UK coverage maps.
