Cheryl cole shouldnt have been allowed
To ask audience members at her girls aloud itv night to vote for Diana and Alexandra
Its an unfair advantage and JLS and eaghon didnt have the same opportunity to be promoted like that. Cheryl Cole is desperate to win this years show and is resorting to begging people at every opportunity to vote for her girls. When asked on a tv show lately who the girls wanted to win the show they all said in unison Diana. Rigged or what? |

hmm, could be that she is tapping her own fan base for votes, yeah perfectly feasible. Is that what you mean?

Like Louis or Simon won't be telling everyone they meet to vote for their acts.
Whats the point in having mentors if they get attacked for drumming up support for their acts? |

Next week all the judges still in the running (Cheryl and Simon) Will be on this morning and GMTV etc trying to garner votes for their acts
Its their role as mentor, what exactly is the problem with Cheryl asking her fans to support her on X Factor? |

I wouldnt take all girls aloud fans as being diana and alex fans so to cynically promote them is an advantage to her girls.

To be honest how many people will go "Oh let's vote them because Cheryl asked us". Begging for votes never works unless you're a fan in the first place or you like their performance on the night. She could ask every person personally in the UK to vote, doesn't mean they'll do it.

Becuase she used a girls aloud gig to promote them, and it should be allowed becasue the other acts dont have performers for mentors do they?
We see Louis do the talk show rounds and 8 out of 10 cats etc asking people to vote for his acts. He will probably be on Chris Moyles if JLS make the final begging for votes. Simon is probably drumming up support for Eoghan at meetings he has or Personal Appearances. I can't believe this could be seen as a problem, its part of the show mentors supporting their acts, there shouldn't be any sort of restriction on it |

But the fact is yes everyone promotes their singer/s, but not all the acts have a performing artist as their mentor so immediately its an advantage to have your mentor in front of thousands promoting you to win this is a huge advantage and the fact the gig was on itv as well is damning. |

Its no worse than what Louis did earlier out on the streets promoting JLS.

That isnt fair on the other acts. And im afraid there are plenty of individuals who will influenced solely because cheryl asked them to vote for her acts. |

Its hardly a huge advantage Cheryl asking for votes.
Its not like the crowd will have all gasped, "oh my god, Cheryls on X Factor? We MUST Vote now she's asked us!" they aren't stupid, if they want to vote then they will, Cheryl reminding them isn't going to force them to their phones. It would be bad mentoring were Cheryl to be on stage infront of hundreds of people, with her two acts in the audience as they were at the Girls Aloud Party and not mention them and try to muster votes. Even if it works, a few votes from a studio audience is hardly going to skew the result. |

The GA gig was an itv show and showed a bias towards her acts.

She is the girls mentor and backed them publicly as she obviously already has been. There is such a thing as free speech, she can't be stopped from saying what she wants and do you honestly think any other judge refrains from promoting their own acts when they are on TV to much larger audiences than an ITV Studio audience? I can't think of a time when I've heard Simon on TV say, "Watch X Factor on Saturday, don't only vote for my act, choose your favourite and vote how you wish" Whats the point in having mentors if they aren't allowed to promote their acts. Thats the whole point of assigning acts to mentors so they can promote them and look out for individual acts. Otherwise its just pop idol |

A few extra votes based purely on what she said at the gig could be all the difference

I can see why she was not allowed to ask people to vote on air.
I think this show is going out between the 2 X-Factor final shows (I read this somewhere), which is going to be a crucial time for the voting. Its a bit different to be promoting her acts if the show had of been on in the middle of the week, but when its between the 2 shows - which is going to be quite an influential time for the votes and Louis and Simon won't be able to do the same then I can see why she wasn't allowed to do it. I can't say I blame her for wanting to do it - it would have been a golden opportunity and any of the judges would have tried to do it. |

Otherwise its just pop idol LOUIS, DANNI, AND SIMON dont perform, dont do any live shows, havent been on anything i have watched recently whether its morning tv, or radio So itv should have said to cheryl let them go to your gig by all means but as this is itv and it would be unfair unless we asked all the acts to come and promoted them all for saturday night, it seems innapropriate for you to be allowed unfair advantage by promoting your acts. Let talent decide this contest and not begging and hype |

Is it her fault she looks out for her acts and doesn't rest on her laurels like the rest? There is nothing stopping the other mentors going on shows to promote their acts, Sharon used to do it and I'm sure I've seen Louis a few times this year promoting the groups. She'd be slated if she went on these shows and never mentioned X factor or her acts so she can't win really. (Well she can when Diana scoops the winners slot) |
