3 Upgrade Procedure
I would have had my current phone for 15 months come January 4th - at this point I can upgrade my phone right? So when I call them, do they give me 1 or 2 or 3 options for phones? How do I know I like the look of them when they roll them off to me on the phone ,do they give you chance to think??!

You should do your research before you call. Check out which handsets you would like and work out what sort of tariff you would like. Have a look at the tariffs they offer and compare them with other providers.
Then when you call them you will be in control, you don't have to upgrade if you don't want and you can do it at any point once your minimum term is up. If they can't offer you what you want then find a deal elsewhere and ask 3 for your PAC. |

Also bear in mind if you are on a low monthly £££ contract with a cheap phone , they won't offer a top phone
But aim high |

I have a Nokia 6120c and pay £15 a mth for 600 texts and 75mins. Don't wanna pay more than that. Have had that for almost 15 months now hence being able to upgrade in Jan. Should I have a few phones in mind to ask for then?
Whats this new tariff where you get free internet and texts for £15 a month? I should have that now! |

Could I go on the new tariff when upgrading at 15mths?
When tariffs changed my wife was paying £40 per month and was in her 15th month to upgrade , but they wouldn't put her on the £35 tariff until her 18 months were up on her original tariff , she could have the new phone straight away but not the tariff , this was a while ago , hopefully things have changed. Then in August my son upgraded his contract in the 15th Month , he was on the £20 Texter plan and took out the special offer of 750 mins , unlimited texts reduced from £35 to £25 pm with a W890i free phone Of course he was upgrading his monthly payment , not taking like for like so I don't know if this influenced their decision , the said he would pay £25 with a £10 credit been applied monthly to his account from the next bill When the next bill arrived it was for the full £35 , they claimed the credit would start after his new contract came into force in a few months time , I argued that wasn't wat was offered and the have agreed and added the credit to his last few months of his existing 3 months |

So on month 15, could I upgrade to the new INQ and change my current £15 a month plan, to their new £15 a mth plan which means unlimited texts and unlimited internet? Sounds like a bargain.

Not with my experience of moving to the same value tariff , they insisted on seeing out the 18 months When we moved up to a higher £ contract they were happy to oblige Ring them free from your phone and and post back |

i pay £15 a month - do you think theyd give me the n95? itd be good to know what phones i could choose from. i really want unlimited internet aswell for £15 like they give to people taking out the INQ but I doubt I'll get that as people are saying you can change your phone on month 15 but not your tariff...however surely its a new 18mth contract starting from month 15 so how can you wait til month 18 to change the tariff? argh! |

Well it's up to 3 - if they wanna keep me I want a decent mobile. How am I to know what phone to go for until they offer them to me? I won't know what they look like!
Why not ring them now if your phone is goosed , see what they say ? An example 300 mins mix n match @ £15 incurs @ £15 video package charge for the C905 , effectively meaning the monthly bill is £30 or Choose a C905 on a £15 texter plan the monthly charge is only £15 but you need to buy the phone @ £149 Looking at their site the INQ1 is the only phone on the £15 with free internet http://threestore.three.co.uk/handse...76&mixnmatch=0 Hope that helps |

Its quite simple really , just go to the three.co.uk website , choose the package you want first , then see what handsets are available on that tariff , or if you know what phone you would like then choose the phone first and then you can see what package you will need to upgrade to , to get that phone .

Is the INQ any good? I've never heard of it! Which company makes it? Is the internet 100% unlimited on that plan?
I don't think 3 would upgrade me early would they? |

Im on month 17 out of 18, so January is the month for me!
However, I have just seen an offer of £26.50 a month for 750 minutes and unlimited texts! This seems to be the best offer for my pocket and requirements. Unfortunately the N96 8GB and the C905 are not included! |

Well apparently you can't change your tariff at month 15!
Yes and No is my experience both @ 15 months Yes it was allowed ( In August 2008 ) as my son upgraded from the £20 texter plan to the £35 , 750 mins , unlimited texts , reduced on special offer to £25. No , it was not allowed when my wife wanted to move from an old £40 tariff onto the then new £35 tariff that had just been launched ( a couple of years ago ) |

Well look ok, I have looked at phones on the same plan that I'm on and theres very little choice. I don't want to pay any more in all honesty. I wanted the N95 but I doubt thats gonna happen!
