I have my satellite box connected to my hard drive media player which is in turn connected to my tv. All are connected via composite leads.
The satellite box is set up with
Aspect Ratio: 4:3LB
Video Output: CVBS
The Emprex media player:
Aspect Ratio:4:3LB
Video output: Composite video.
and finally the TV, which has don't have proper aspect ratio labels, They are Zoom1, Zoom2, Subtitle, Full, Normal.
Aspect Ratio: Subtitle (which seems to be true 16:9)
Video Input via composite input.
If I set the Satellite box and/or the Emprex to 16:9 the tv picture goes 4:3 for some reason.
Ideally what I want is for 16:9 films to be in proportion, eg not feeling squashed, squeezed or stretched.
And for 4:3 films to be shown with black bars on the side.
Any ideas what settings will achieve this?
P.s. the tv screen size is 22in diagonal, and a resolution of 1680 by 1050 (which is a 16:10)
