Narinder & Josh On Life After Reality TV.
From the 'ic Newcastle' site, a feature discussing the perils of Reality TV and the problems likely to be faced by the Teen BB contestants, Girls Aloud etc ........ Narinder and Josh have rather a lot to say.
''.....Narinder Kaur was in the second series of Channel 4 programme Big Brother. She now works as a freelance radio and TV presenter. Big Brother made her an instant star, but the fame and adoration didn't last for long. After her stint in the limelight, Narinder, 30, who grew up in the North-East, left her job as a medical sales rep and followed her dream to be an actress. Regular acting work has not materialised but she is making a living as a presenter and recently fronted the Asian Music Awards. She says: "I don't think I would have managed to get into presenting without reality television." Narinder says her Big Brother fame got her interviews and auditions but also came with a downside. She says: "It got me labelled. I suppose reality television people are all case studies. "Sometimes you have good weeks and sometimes bad ones. I am a very strong, very ambitious person. Some of my Big Brother housemates have gone back to their day jobs and have found it very difficult. The following year there is another programme and they are old news. "It is very hard on the younger ones, they are only 16 or 17 years old. Sometimes it is very hard to take the Press criticism, reality people are easy targets .....'' Full article ... |

Thanks for the link Eejay, I'm always interested to find out what past housemates are up to and their views on how Big Brother effected their lives.

Another thank you to Eejay for the link
![]() Reality TV shows have been going for some time now and for the life of me, I can't work out why people apply to go on them I can't think of a single person who's found fame, fortune and respect after being on a Reality TV show. Surely it's the worst way to break into show biz/media? I liked Narinder though. She was a gobby mare but always honest and up front about her longing to be a star. She never dragged out the "I'm here for the experience" BS! |

Narinder was great, bringing a lot of colour and spice to the BB2 house. She was bitchy, bolshie, gossipy, confrontational and occasionally quite spiteful but she was also vulnerable at times and always honest - and I honestly don't think she had an ounce of genuine malice in her.

Yes, that's correct much for the same reasons as Ben4321 in his brilliant summary of her.

Narinder was a star. BB2 was great, but never recovered from her premature exit.
