Frozen mince meat: to deforst or cook from frozen?
Hi peeps,
quickie here: I bought two packs of fresh mince meat from the chiller a few weeks ago; only used one pack, the other went straight into the freezer. Question now: for spagh bol shall I defrost it first, then fry... or do I cook straight from frozen (that'll give off a lot of water I fear..). Obviously health and safety is a concern...don't want to end up with an upset tummy.. Many thanks ![]() Ju411 |

You will need to defrost it first just for the fact that it is probably frozen in a big lump. I always defrost fresh mince that has been frozen.
You can cook mince from frozen that is frozen when bought but that stuff is usually loose so will defrost quickly once you put it on heat. You'd have a hard job getting a block of mince to defrost and cook evenly. Defrost it in the microwave. |
