Frankie & Benny's or TGI Fridays??
What is your favourite restaurant from the two given? It was TGI Fridays, but since they removed some of my favourite dishes, I'm now going with Frankie & Benny's.
their mushroom starter is heaven!!! |

It's like being asked which is your favourite disease.
In all honesty I can't stand either of them. I'm certainly no food snob. I have a couple of pot noodles in my cupboard for emergencies and am about to cook myself up a toastie. I could go on but you get the picture... I went on a date to the flicks and afterwards we wanted a bite to eat. Being right next to the cinema, Frankie and Benny's seemed an easy option. Went there, sat down. Had order taken. I ordered a calzone pizza. I kid you not - less than 5 minutes later it arrived. Now I'm all for efficient service but colour me cynical if I say that I believe a microwave was involved in the cooking process. Was massively below par and wouldn't go there again. |

I've always had good meals at F&B's, despite what everyone says about them. Have heard lots of bad things about TGI's though.

Never been in a TGI's but F&B is over priced, over-rated, sub-standard crap.

Never been to TGI's, but really like Frankie & Benny's and have been back a few times.
One food restuarant im not too sure why everyone raves on about is Nando's as we went once and dont think we will ever go back. |

I prefer TGI Friday's but the closest one to us is Lakeside so don't get to go there very often.

i was forced to go to TGI's recently for my friend's 31st birthday (apparently it was always a dream of his to go to TGI's for his birthday). Anyway, it was appalling. I wouldn't go back.
On another note though, the portion sizes have shrunk, I remember going when i was a teenager and there being so much food. They seem to serve up half as much now. |

TGIs and F&Bs are the sorts of places I like to take the children to, although I prefer F&Bs so take them there instead of TGIs. Since we've been going there, they've stopped asking to be taken to the likes of McDonalds and KFC, which has to be a good thing, although I do like a McDonalds myself now and again.
We make sure we get there before 5 so that I can take advantage of the Lunch menu and get three courses for £8.45, they share my starter with me and we have it all together with our mains. If you ask they will provide vegetables or salad with each childrens meal, which is good for us because I have one child who is mad about veg (that has given me an idea for another thread). I'm happy to pay £3.95 per child for the food they're given, it's a fair enough price. |

Ive eaten there twice now due to my mates loving the bloody place, got to admit that after a couple of jugs of the cocktails they serve there its not too painful, but I never ever get the urge to go in the gaff off my own back. Microwave meals are not somthing I relish eating on a night out with friends.
The local F&B has won restaurant of the year in our local rag in the past in a readers vote, and I for 1 just dont get it. |

I think with these large chains it depends on the quality of the local staff. Good manager and chefs = good service and a good meal. My local F & B has an open kitchen and I cant see any microwaves. They also do a damn good burger!

Never been to TGI's. We have been to Frankie & Bennys once though - it was nice from what I recall. Probably wouldn't go there again though - it wasn't that local and was located at a retail park in Telford, not an ideal setting.

Last time I went to TGI's I went to the theatre afterwards to see Buddy. The meal tasted very salty but I never realised how salty it was until I drank 2 litres of water before the interval in the theatre. It was only a bacon and cheese burger as well! Would never go there again which is annoying as it used to be nice. F&B I always find to be nice.

I absolutely love TGI's! Mmm....Jack Daniels sauce is to die for!
I've been to F&B's three times and have no complaints. still prefer TGI's simply for the JD sauce though. |

Only ever been to a TGI and that was in America. I've never had such a salty meal and it ruined it for me. Mind you, i've been to a few expensive restaurants in the US in the last 5 weeks and most of them over salt the food, with a couple of exceptions.

I've been to TGI Fridays when I was 21 - god that was 5 years ago eek!! They're portions were massive, but quite expensive. My mate worked there at hte time so got a discount. Also been to Frankie and Bennys, its quite nice in there, had lasagne, didn't seem like it was microwaved. But then again it was about 2 years ago!! Did I mention it was a bit overpriced though??!!! Stick to a traditional pub meal!!!
