Toshiba new ZV upscaling lcds
Anyone seen any of these lcd tvs in the shops yet. They were supposed to be in the shops at start of December. I'm holding off buying a tv until i see a demo but could miss out on some clearance tv's which are going at a good price at the moment.

What these do is utilise the chip used in PS3's to process the image on SD inputs and display it in near HD quality!

Well don't get too excited, the PS3 doesn't do anything amazing with DVDs.

Not owning a PS3 or a 42/46ZV555D I cannot pass comment on how well these new panels work.
I would hazard a guess that they will do a fantastic job since they already do on existing 'upsacaling' panels without the PS3 chip. Its the fact that they can enhance a SD input with better end results. However if people actually set their panels up correctly SD inputs can look very good, even on my two year old WLT66! |
