Problem connecting Video Camera to PC using HDMI (?) cable- Please help!
Hi there,
I have recently purchased a HDMI link in order to enable me to tranfer my video files from my camera to my PC. After connecting my HDMI cable into the camera and laptop, the PC doesn't seem to recognise the connection. The camera is in VCR mode, turned on, and the cable is also plugged in correctly. Does anyone know why the PC isn't recognising my camera? I am recording onto 8mm tapes. Thanks in advance for any replies. The video camera is the Sharp VL-PD3H and my PC/laptop is DELL inspiron 1525 if that is of any help. |

The camcorder (quite an old model launched in 1999 http://www.sharpnews.co.uk/?p=377 ) has no HDMI connection but does have DV/Firewire so I guess that is how you are connected (not HDMI) to the Inspiron 1525.
Do you have to enable the DV output via the camcorder menu? Or load some drivers for the device (CD came with the camcorder?) or are the drivers compatible with Vista? Just a few thoughts. |
