EOGHAN - While he has a nice tone to his voice, he has very average vocal ability at best and I am still stunned every time the judges give him such universal praise. If he won he would sink without a trace within a year.

JLS - Aston can sing (albeit in a strong american accent). The others might as well not be there. I don't feel right voting for a group with only one decent vocalist. they relied heavily on backing vocals last week. Plus the JLS colours thing is cheesy beyond belief and Aston looks about 10.

Alexandra - The only one of the finalists i can see being successful after the show. Her performances could be taken from a live set at wembley. She has star quality, can sing better than the other finalists combined, dance and has real presence and charisma. If she doesn't win there's something very wrong with the voting public!

Eoghan - nice tone to his voice , nice kid , nice performances if you can get past the out of tune sound , no future prospects past 1 album.

JLS - nice guys , although I find two highly irritating. No chance of future success unless they have a drastic image change. They aren't great singers either but will win no doubt.

Alexandra - The best remaining act but won't win because she's a girl.

Eoghan - I like him! He's seems like such a nice kid who's just up there doing what he loves. I quite like his voice as well. I would never have put him in the final though.

JLS - I just see them as a soloist with 3 backing singers. Aston has a great voice but they don't wow me at all. I just feel underwhelmed.

Alexandra - Her voice is gorgeous, it's near perfect. But I can't warm to her, I feel like we've seen it all before.

EOGHAN - Nice kid, but his voice is VERY average and I am very surprised he even got this far.

JLS - I think they are great performers, they are not the best of singers, I don't think Louis was the right mentor for them, imo they would of done better with someone else as their mentor.

Alexandra - She is the best act left in the competition by a mile. I think she has everything, she can sing and dance, her performances have always been great.. She should definitely win it.

JLS- So talented! l love their sound and their look but I just wish we could hear the others sing because they actually can!
Alex- She has a really nice personality and seems really genuine. Also her voice is amazing, but as an artist i dont think shes like leona/whitney/mariah etc. I really love her doing up tempo numbers!
Eoghan- He's getting better as a performer, but i must be completely missing something, because I really don't see whats so special about him at all. Average voice imo and so over rated!

That pretty much sums up my thoughts, too.
Of the three, I'd like JLS to win to be sure they get a recording deal, and, hopefully some better advice in their choice of songs - Louis nearly ruined this for them several times, imo.
Alex is assured of a successful career whatever happens, I should think.

Eoghan: I actually think he has a very sweet sounding voice and he's voice will get better as it matures. This is one reason I think the age should be 18 simply because the contestants voices haven't reached full maturity. I also think Simon is giving him the wrong kind of music. Pop Rock is popular now. The kid is cute and is an alright singer. Give him something that is relevant to today and original. But I suspect there are no long term plans for Eoghan so Simon won't waste money on this.

JLS: They need to spread the vocals out a little more. Again bad song choices because of the themed weeks which is no fault of their own. Louis makes them a little too cheesy for my liking and I don't think they are a cheesy group at all. Hopefully with a contract they'll be able to do the R n B that they love so much. X Factor tends to kill anyone who isn't pop unfortunately so they've done well to get this far.

Alex: She's a classic example of a good all rounder. My worry for Alex is that she'll be given ballad after ballad. We have Leona for ballads we need something who 'can shake what her Momma gave her' and belt out her classic powerful vocals. She's got a gorgeous low to mid range voice and they could do so much with this with the right material. She needs original uptempo material. If they market her right she could be massive. But again with Eoghan and JLS Simon is terrible as breaking away from traditional mainstream pop.

Alex: Should be our new diva. Not a clone of someone else. Give her new up-tempo material - yeah a few ballads too but Leona does those and so Alex should go out and excite.

JLS: Unfortunately with Louis as their mentor they may end up just doing ballads like Westlife. Although they were ok doing that Lonestar song I liked them best when they were exciting and entertaining.

Eoghan: Give him lots of backing singers and he'll be fine. Actually seriously I don't think there's much going for him.

Eoghan - Very confident and lovely voice. Comes across really sweet and id be so happy for him if he won!

JLS - The ones i think could go really far and be the next big boyband! Loved umbrella yesterday it was outstanding and they are really good perofrmers, id also be very pleased if they won!

Alex - seen it all before, cant really connect with her...a bit boring tbh

JLS or Eoghan to win!!

What about the band that's sold over 400,000 albums this week and currently number one.

Who also formed in the early 90s , and now are successful due to the fanbase they built when acts of their styles were popular. There have been no successful boybands who have formed in the last 5/6 years and that won't change now.

Sorry didn't realise that you wanted to put a time limit on it.

But that's common sense surely? Music evolves over time and what was popular before may not neccessarily work now.

Depends what you call big really

Mcfly, busted, blue, westlife...all from the noughties and been successful, just depends how you define 'big'

In some way I agre with you about Alex. She is a very god singer but is there anything to set her apart from the dozens of girl singers that already occupy that space.?

At the moment I cannot see anything about her to make her stand out from the crowd.

Although she is very good its a me to situation. Unless she can create her own unique image he wll struggle.

JLS are nothing like Busted/McFly , Blue haven't had a hit record for 5 years and Westlife are popular now due to them forming at a time when boybands were the rage IMO.

JLS have to undetgo a massive image/sound change in order to last until next year I think. The fact that they have ended up in the bottom 2 shows that the support for them is not as consistent as for previous winners and so if most of the previous winners aren't doing too well right now what hope can there be for JLS?

Well it clearly works now if it's sold 400,000 albums. I liked S Club from the 90's but I wouldn't buy their music now. Take That evolve to stay relevant and good on them. You ask what big boy-band and I answered. I didn't try and work out an answer that made you right sorry. -Shrugs-

They would not have sold that many albums had they just formed now and released songs they did at the start of their career. I'd class them as half alternative rock now , which is another reason they're successful. Somehow I can't see JLS doing that plus they don't have the fanbase to support them.

Let's start with the fact none of them have the X factor, then move on.

Eggon.....he's a parents "proud of" karaoke singer. Not got the range or presence for anything more (though with ABBA songs could become a gay icon)

JLS, many more better boybands have not had the chance to go as far.
They have poor harmonies, poor voices, but an enormous amount of hype, nothing more. They are z factor.

Alex , the winner if there is justice, she's not a great, but is good enough to take the prize. Think though she will be remembered as much as Leon, which is a shame as she seems a nice girl.

No I can't see JLS lasting all that long to be honest. I was just commenting on the big boyband thing. Nice guys but we haven't seen enough of the music they like to sing.

Lets face it. Take That are in a league of their own. Mainly thanks to Gary Barlow's material and his ability to change their sound to suit the times.
