Brenda's exit is still number one for me, it still chokes me up when I watch it back. But Diana's definately comes second!

My mum detested Diana and yet was crying at the results show.

Diana was my favourite by Daniel took so much stick that for me the way he dealt with his exit was fantastic.

Yes, Daniel was very dignified too.

Him, Diana and Ruth were by far the best exits.

I liked Scott but his exit was awful.

I was never a fan of Diana's voice but she always seemed like a nice person. In fairness, they all do. I thought she handled her exit extremely well. I did however cringe at Eoghan's "performance" which was the worst thing I have ever seen on a light entertainment program.

I don't consider watching a 16 year old boy crying his eyes out on TV, entertainment, whether you find it sweet or false. The kid was already crying before her performance so a producer should have made sure he didn't return to the stage until he had composed himself. If someone actually suggested he go on stage to create a "TV Moment" then that's disgraceful. Eoghan is 16 and he acts even younger than his age, so you would hope that there are people there to look after him when he bursts into tears not look for ways of making "good TV".

After Saturday night I think they should raise the age limit again because I found the whole experiece uncomfortable and Diana like every loosing contestant at least deserved her moment.

Perfect end to the star of the show.

Eoghans running was just so emotional, I love how she said it was the best moment of her life.

White Flag is now my favourite performance of the series.

I thought Diana's exit could not have been more perfect. She is an absolute star and has proved what a huge impact she made on the show.

The audience of the Xtra factor were silenced, Dermot almost cried and the judges barely even wanted to open there mouths. I could tell everyone was speechless and knew something was not right.

When Ruth left the show people were upset but not even close to the reaction of diana leaving.

People who think Eoghan's crying was staged or fake really are either blind or dont have a heart. The boy was absolutely bailing his heart out to her. It wasnt a little sniff or a pushed attempt at crying, it was full blown release of emotions straight from his heart. The boy is IN LOVE.

Diana throughout the entire show was ALWAYS a lovely girl. From audition 1 to the end. She never showed any form of bitterness or anything to hate. People only picked up on things she did differently or akwardly and used it against her to make there favorites look better.

White flag left me without words, and my girlfriend in tears. I dont understand how people can say this performance wasnt brilliant.

I had tears in my eyes. She was lovely. She should have won, IMO. And she was so graceful, like you say.

And all of her interviews so far have her being extremely humble and modest saying it was her time to go. (Unlike Laura and Rachel)

This girl is an absolute star.

How dare you criticise someone for politely expressing their opinion.

Also, "an iconic" performance? Like Hendrix doing the Star Spangled Banner, or the Stones at Wembley etc?

Seriously?

Diana Vickers singing White Flag?

Let's hope Santa brings you a dictionary and some manners for Christmas.

Well said, I agree 100% with your post.

I detested Diana but I did find her exit sad when eggnog went on before she finished the song. I was choked infact

I thought it was emotional It was so sad and a touching moment when all the finalists came on But Eoghan should have waited until the song was over I think.
I believe his tears were genuine so I wouldnt call him a crybaby. I thought it was rather sweet, he was just upset his friend (perhaps more?) was leaving so for him, it was bittersweet.
Ruth's exit was very emotional too And she was also extremely polite and graceful. I almost wept during her final Always.

It made me have tears in me eyes must be me age I showed it to me mum on Youtube, and she cried and she doesn't even like Diana or Eoghan as singers (she likes them as people though)

I am going to miss Diana such a lovely girl, with, IMO, a unquie lovely voice.

Diana will probably do well now that she can choose her own songs that suit her voice and style. She seemed quite pleased to go. I wish her well.

Always love it when folks get all uppity criticising people who post contrary views on the basis of 'right to express an opinion'. Er, like, irony or what?

Also, the term 'iconic' is not the exclusive preserve of dead/old/smackhead performers.

. . . Just exercising my right to express an opinion on a discussion forum

I was disagreeing with the arrogance with which the OP commented on someone else disagreeing in the first place!

Your defence of the use of the word "iconic" is nearly as misjudged as the original attempt at using it in the first place! Do you *really* think anyone will remember Diana Vickers, let alone her White Flag performance, in 5 years? Heck, I think most people will have forgotten about her in 5 months and her White Flag performance in 5 days!!!

Just "my opinion"

What does "bailing" your heart out mean? I don't follow.

I get the impression you might have been rather seeing this "reaction" to Diana's exit through rose-tinted glasses - evidently you're a Diana fan, especially given the laughable (in my opinion) suggestion that her version of White Flag was anything special. There have been so many better performances on this show this year - heck, there were even several (perhaps even six or seven) better performances on the semi final show itself!

Glad you enjoyed it though - someone's got to

Well ok then, but I don't agree with you about DV's future career. For what it's worth, I think she's now got a considerable fan-base, gearing up to follow her for years to come. Guess neither of us has a crystal ball, though
