I blame Austin's exit on Erin.

She had one of the best male celebs there's ever been in the show and yet she still failed to get him to the final.

The reson? Crap choreagraphy on the American Smooth this week. The judges said it lacked sparkle and they were right, but it had little to do with Austin's dancing...it was just a lacklustre routine. Erin has to take the rapfor Austin going out ahead of time.

Well, I think this may be a bit harsh tbh. Austin has mentioned tiredness the last couple of weeks and I thought his performance last night lacked its usual fire and pizzazz - I'm not sure if that could be put down to the choreography. My only real problem with the routine was that the lifts were probably too long coming, too close together and somehow didn't really flow from the dance itself.

I think Erin has been great this series and she looks hotter than ever.

Do you think she needs it saying publically on a forum? You don't think her tears backstage were a realisation of this? After all, she's known as the Ballroom Queen.

TBH Camilla's Rhumba choreo was poor, as was Brendan's Jive choreo, one had no basic and was all highlight, the other was all basic and not much variation.

The Pros have an incredibly difficult job to do week after week. Cut them some slack!

This is a ridiculous thread. Not only is there another one like it, where I've already posted my opinion and I won't bother redoing it, it's just nasty and unnecessary. I'm sure the pro feels sad enough when they leave without people making these silly comments.

She's a lovely woman, and a great ballroom dancer.

Sadly she can't choreograph for peanuts and just does not understand Latin at all. Her samba was truly wet

Goodbye Austin. You were great fun. At least Tess can't grope you any more...

Thats total rubbish and the OP is heartless you can see how much it meant to her! I blame the judges blatent favouritism and if it was not as showstopping as the paso at the beginning fatigue could have played a role too but the lifts and overall choreography was outstanding. Leave Erin alone

I was amused at her shedding her hair pieces during their dance off routine!!

Brendan had to remove them before he and Lisa did their waltz.

I like erin, and thought she did a great job, it just sucked that they had a couple of dances this week that maybe didn't suit them, and the fact that the judges have "we love rachel and lisa" tattooed to their foreheads!

I quite enjoyed the American Smooth.

Erin could have been craftier though and did what Brendan did - focus on one dance and make it outstanding.

After all, Lisa's shoddy Jive was soon forgotten. It's the Waltz that made the difference.

I thought the samba choreography was great. I'm truly sorry to see Austin go, overall I think he was a better contender than Lisa but just the weaker performer on the night.

That is so unfair OP.

American Smooth should have suited Austin prefectly. All this about not having the right dances is just ridiculous. It is the fact that this dance was below par which has led to him being evicted from the show. He should never have been in position of having to do latin in the dance off.

That is just rubbish ealingkid (do you live in Ealing?). Austin was obviously completely knackered and it showed. Are you a dancer or a choreographer? Would you even know if the choreography was good or bad? The lifts were fantastic and it really wasn't a lacklustre routine at all - sadly Austin wasn't able to give it the pizzazz it deserved because he was so tired. He said himself he thought he was going out this week and I think it showed in his dancing.

I think it was supposed to be a salsa.....although it didn't look like one

Totally agree Hayfever. I have said as much in other threads. There have been so many posts about Austin's dances not suiting him.

Austin & Erin's Latin dance was the Salsa, though it looked more like a Samba in parts.

In terms of choreography I thought Erin has played a blinder this year.

It was unfortunate to land a salsa at this stage which was never going to suit either of them and I think Austin's tiredness affected his performance and limited what Erin could put in the routine.

Likewise, if Austin were to dance his waltz, even with the first week standard, and compared with Lisa's lowish twenties Salsa which was quite a disaster, it would easily been the reverse.

Yes, it's strange that one would have thought that Erin would make the lift more smooth than what Austin did (pick-up and put-down), like she did with Colin's marvellous AS routine, they would probably cream Lisa's Waltz. Sadly it wasn't so.

Indeed I agree with Erin has concentrated on one dance (the ballroom), like the other three couples did, they would probably be dancing in the semi. As it is, Erin tried very hard at making the Salsa look decent and even entertaining, at the expense of a low(er) quality AS.

Yep.

It shouldn't be pot luck at this stage.

Get the couples performing the same dances at this crucial stage so that the judges and public can compare like with like.

Lisa & Brendan struck gold when they landed the Waltz. They barely bothered attending to the Jive.

People need to get over it, he's out simple as that. No conspiracy theories. The judges rightly put him bottom of their leaderboard.............because he was clearly the weakest on the night. The public didn't put him top of their poll, because not enough people thought he was best.
Simple isn't it folks!

It's kind of weird to say this again, considering how many people have already addressed this issue, but once more: Austin could have come top with the public and yet still be in the dance off
