Tom is a bit "fake"

For me, Tom is the only dancer in this year's show who has consistently impressed me. I love to watch him. IMHO he has the most natural ability and is a joy to watch. I don't find him in the least bit smug, he just loves to dance and is having fun. Of course he wants to win though, they all do, but he comes across as having the most genuine-ness about him, something the others are lacking (particularly Austin and his bloody 'guns', could never understand what all the fuss was about there).

As for the wedding, I'm sure he's as bored with others making reference to it as we all are, but he's not the one who brings it up all the time.

I don't think he's fake at all. I just love his enthusiasm, he genuinely looks happy with scores that the others simply expect and he went completely mad when they got the 10's on saturday. I don't feel that his emotional reactions could possibly have been faked - they certainly rang true for me.

I've disliked Tom for most of this series, but I've finally worked out what it is that annoys me about him - it's his 'dance' faces that get on my nerves. Same as Colin J in fact.

Even more than his stepping in for the petulant one, for me, the nicest thing was the way he was first up to Austin after the Dance Off, and seemed genuinely shocked and upset for him.

It had never occured to me that Tom was fake - until you mentioned it - but now that I have thought about it, I'm sure I was right.

Great Dancer - no arguments there. If he won I'd be fine with it.

However, I can imagine that if I knew him personally and he acted the way he is portrayed on the show, whether that be his true self or how he is edited in VT/directed by Tess etc, I'd think he was annoying as hell. Wouldn't go near him at a party for fear of being small talked / fake laughed to death. Of course some would see that as just being a nice person and trying to get along with strangers and keep a convo going, so fair enough. My opinion, your opinion.

Could not agree more, for me he has come the furthest of all the couples left, and for me is the most genuine of them IMO. So could not disagree more with him being fake.

I just think he sticks out a mile being in the competition with Rachbot and over self-conscious Lisa.

It may come off as fake/smug....whatever
but he seems to be the only one enjoying himself. Lisa is scared to breathe the wrong way and has anyone checked Rachel for a pulse yet?
