If the Judges didn't rig the LB would a female ever get to the final?

Probably but not certainly. I have no problem with the leaderboard but the dance off is another matter entirely...

Dreadful male dancing opposition there though.......not hunky/sexy enough either. The problem seems to be when the females are closer to the males in ability and the males are more desirable - then there's a danger of a narrow gap in ability one way turning into a mountain of votes the other.

Almost certainly, they can only escape the dance off if the judges leader board is reversed exactly by the public vote. I think even if the judges mark fairly it's still pretty crappy.

As an Alesha and Gethin fan ,I don't think Gethin would have won,he did deserve to be in the final though. It wasn't just Alesha's fantastic dancing and performance, but she and Matt had that magic and sparkle so sadly missing this year, and their VW how emotional was that,so many wows in so many dances..I've not gone wow to a single dance this year
It's harder for the male celebs to win, they have to lead, and of 5 winners 3 have been girls,so definitely no bias if you're female.

Good dancers don't need inflated marks they just need accurate ones. Very few people would disagree that the four best dancers got to the QF. The public vote alone would probably have had had JS, Tom, Austin and Christine as the last 4 which would be pretty absurd.

I'd agree but I still think the dance off is the major flaw. The leaderboard has always been there and hasn't produced anything anyone would have majorly objected to thus far.

I agree, but they shouldn't be allowed both, one or the other should be ditched by this stage.

No objection from me there. And it should be the dance off.

Not necessarily so. Cast your mind back to the final of Series 3.

Zoe 1st on LB 3rd with public
Colin 2nd on LB 2nd with public
Darren 3rd on LB 1st with public

All three finish in a 3-way tie with a total of 4.

Zoe eliminated on the tie-breaker (lowest public vote).

As far as I'm aware, the only thread for last night with people raving about how amazing they were was for Rachel.

Overmarked, perhaps, in the sense that all of their scores are inflated - but overranked? I don't think so.”

Come on - do you really believe that three ballroom dances were worth 39 and one only 34 - there was no differentiation between the ballroom dances and that can't be reflection of the reality.

Why can't it be?

I think all four of them were overmarked except perhaps Tom's foxtrot. However, I think the difference between Austin, and Lisa and Rachel, was indeed worth five points Regardless of whether it was 30, 35, 35, 36 or 34, 39, 39, 39.. had no bearing on the leaderboard. Relatively, I thought it was right.
