There is no need at all, and the same people who are applauding it would be baying for blood if one of the attractive girls did it.

However, I don't mind too much if they've just been booted off, whereas if they are flashing the flesh in an attempt to gain votes they won't be getting mine!

I'm northern and found the way Tess behaved utterly cringeworthy and rather vulgar. Please don't tar us all with the same brush.

I can just imagine the uproar if a pretty girl did it...

I can imagine that there would be a huge amount of uproar if one of the girl celebrities did take their top off but to be honest I can never imagine that happening .

If Austen wanted to take his top off then thats up to him but it was only for a few seconds and he put it back on afterwards so I don't think there was any harm done. And at least he made one person happy (that person being Tess.......).

I can't believe some people are making such a fuss about a quick flash of nice male flesh!

I just felt it was a bit unoriginal after Mark did the same thing a few weeks back (and I've spent half the series drooling over Austin!).

Just thought it was all a bit forced and tacky.

And Tess wasn't helping matters.

We're not sex objects on display purely for your gratification

Oh, how I wish Matthew Cutler did whip off his shirt last weekend - even for a nano-second ....

It's the ones who don't flaunt their beauty that I want to see - like Matt! God his butt looks good in jeans doesn't it?!

Are 'twice' and 'constantly' synonymous?

Happens every weekend in Newcastle pubs.
Eternal Life has led a sheltered life.

I find it quite ironic that Mark came in for so much stick on the boards when he removed his shirt - yet most of the comments about Austin have been complimentary.

I find these comments quite offensive. Would you make stereotypical remarks like that based on someone's skin colour? I would hope not. So please don't do it based on where someone comes from.

(And I'm not northern, by the way)

I wish they wouldn't.
I don't find it attractive and it sets a bad example.
Austin has a sharp mind and a good education - I'd rather he exploited that than his much-vaunted muscles. Who (other than Tess and Arlene) cares?

I think Essex girl on a Saturday night can hold her own with anything you might see up north.

Raucous behaviour is not confined to location.

No - he did it in a cheap, southern, Bethnal Green way.

After all it was a dance-off,
not a hair-off.

Couldn't have out it better myself, as to the lack of proportion. But even had he been perfectly proportioned, I really don't like it, especially not on a 'family' show. It looks a bit cheap and nasty
