i would say that whilst i like having the judges to coment

i still say it should be all done to public vote and not the 4 judges to decide on a dance off

what do u all think ?

If you want to know what people think why not read the other 20 or so threads on the subject?

Could we put all these in a sub forum or something???

Yes. Public vote only.

I might still be watching it if it were public vote only.

well that's fine, but John Sergeant would have got to the final if that were the case this year and then you'd all be moaning

I wouldn't be moaning. He'd only be one of three and Kristina is highly watchable. It's good to see choreography for the social dancer - things we can all attempt to do.

Plus he's a more interesting person to have on camera than Rachel or Lisa. And since the dances occupy little time - 12 minutes on Saturday - then personality is actually far more important than dance.

my point is, whatever way it's done will annoy someone!

In a show called Strictly Come Dancing I'd say dancing is what it's all about

Look at other televote based RTV shows. You won't find any shortage of people complaining about the results. What you WILL find is that the complainers very rarely speak with a single voice.

For example I know what would improve BB for me but others don't share my views. There's a range of different viewer requirements which just cannot all be met simultaneously.

Strictly started off with a very simple but actually quite elegant compromise. The dance-off has ruined it a bit but there are positives (albeit outweighed by the negatives) and it remains a very entertaining show.

I'd like to go back to the old rules.

They`re just there to cause controversy on forums.

Their scoring, well especially Lens and Brunos is a joke

I think a compromise might be that the dance off goes in the quarter final. That would mean the judges have the opportunity to get rid of the weakest dancers and the public still get the final say in who goes through. Everyone (relatively!) happy!

Yep, or even the semi-final, especially since it should have four couples and not three. I'm still hoping there won't be a dance off next week, but I suspect there probably will.

Yeah, basically whenever it gets to the last four and hence makes it nigh on impossible for the public to save their favourite.

*crosses fingers next year for an actual three couple final!*

I think a compromise on the dance-off has to be reached, because if a couple have to/elect to drop out of the competition (as has happened in the last two years) it means the judges have far too much say as to who goes through to the final.
So I would say, dance-off till 5 couples left.
Then for the next two weeks, judges' scores and viewers' votes added together as per usual, lowest couple goes.
And for the final three couples, public vote only decides, though the judges can still critique and give scores.

ADDED: If you base it on the number of couples left in the competition, then it doesn't matter so much if there are only 3 couples in the semi-final.
