Does anyone else think this is the most predictable final ever?
To me it's incredibly obvious that JLS are being set up to win. The OTT comments , especially Simon's prediction last week just showed that he's pining for them to win it. Plus a group have never won , neither has an act who's previously been in the bottom 2 so this would just fill that gap (JLS are probably the best chance a group have of winning so I can't see Simon letting that chance pass). They have the "good looking" vote on their side too and that always (bar once) determines the winner (and everyone seems to be saying they'll be voting for them to win)
So that's why they'll win because of the main points. In relation to the other finalists , I don't believe Eoghan will win. He's far too young to win in the first place, he's not a long term artist and is too similar to last year's winner to be given a shot. Simon's not gonna risk putting such a young guy in the spotlight if his future prospects are bleak as then he'll come under fire for exploiting young kids for money! Alexandra....*sigh*...where shall I start? No chance of winning whatsoever , especially against two males and the emergence of the sex tape (it will affect the vote). She'll finish third. Throughout the competition there's been no reference of her winning the show , only "making the final" (probably because Simon wants to sign her but not as the winner) and that won't change now. Plus there doesn't seem to be that much support for her compared to the other two acts. Unpredictable finals are the best IMO as if you can predict the outcome it's not a final anymore , it's just a formality. Leona's final was different as she was in a completely different league to anyone else and any other outcome that year would have been disastrous whereas this year I don't feel that JLS are the most talented and would not bring the show any credibility ala Leona. So really I feel like I'm watching an American Idol results show (as in I've read the spoiler and am now watching the results to see the reaction). So if the final on Saturday doesn't go 3rd -Alex, 2nd - Eoghan , 1st - JLS I will quite literally , eat my woolly hat!

I can't see it being as clear cut as you're saying...
Alex seems to be getting a bit of anti-press at the minute and therefore may scupper her chances of winning; however I think she'll be at least 2nd - I just can't see her being 3rd. I know she's a woman and rarely do well in these competitions but I just feel that its going to end up 1st = Eoghan 2nd = Alex 3rd = JLS I can just see with Diana's exit, Eoghan getting a swell of her support - just a gut feeling. I hope I'm wrong and you're right |

both Eoghan/ Alex fans are much more likely to transfer votes to them than each other. So if Alex gets 3rd place; I reckon you;'ll be right |

This is the first time we have had a solo male, a solo female and a group in the final.
I thought JLS were the certainties to finish 3rd. After all, they're the only one of the three to have been in the bottom 2 so far and groups usually come 3rd don't they (Journey South and Same Difference). You are all assuming though that whoever goes out their voters will then pick up the phone and vote again for one of the other two. Remember that the only thing that the 3rd place act doesn't get to do is sing Hallelujah which I think can be to their advantage, and the runner up doesn't have to release it. Reaching the final is far more important than winning it. |

That rules her out completely , she'll be third no doubt. |

Lol, I don't give the 'being set up to win' conspiracies any credit whatsoever
People will vote for whoever they want - and personally I think you're going to be eating hat ![]() I reckon it'll probably be JLS third ... not sure between the others. |

i actually think it's one of the more unpredictable finals.
it's a weak final in terms of actual talent, but i could reasonably see any of the three winning it. |

I think the winner is unpredictable. I haven't got a clue which one will win.
But I do think it's a boring final. |

OTT comments?
I think Alexandra wins the prize there. A selection of comments (not exactly word-for-word) that came in addition to a few standing ovations in the past 2 weeks... "You make me proud to be British" (Cowell) "We may be seeing the birth of a star" (Cowell) "That was incredible, it doesn't get any better, you are the best girl singer in the competition by a mile" (Walsh) "Last week incredible, this week just as good, you must make the final" (Walsh) "I hope people vote, you have to make it through" (Cowell) "If I can't get you to the final, it will be one of the biggest regrets of my career" (Cheryl while getting all teary) "It may sound like I'm favouring you, but I like people who try, who are decent off camera" (Cowell) "Taking every performance so far, that was the best of the series" (Cowell) "I'm still reeling from Alexandra's performance" (Cowell after an ad break when introducing Eoghan). JLS had their big push last week to get them to the final instead of Diana. If they went, those cute votes would have gone to Eoghan. The flaw in the plan was the wild antics of Eoghan last week... could some of Diana's fans actually transfer to Eoghan after that? I think Eoghan is a threat, but I expect they will do their best to stub out that threat through mediocre praise, average songs and bigger more dramatic productions through VT, performance and judges reactions for JLS and Alexandra. |

did anyone see this morning with ruth and eamonn a few weeks ago where they were interviewing jls and they said "so... how does it feel to be the 2008 x factor winners?" ??
was this a pre-interview that they did with all finalists or is it actually part of a set up?? i love jls have done since day 1 i really hope this isnt a fix for them, i would love to see them genuinely win |

I think the fact that so many people have different opinions on who will win suggests that it will definitely be an unpredictable final.
I think Eoghan will win. Others think it's been orchestrated *yawn* for Alexandra or JLS to win. Others think Alexandra will win it on talent, others think JLS will be the first group to win and others think Eoghan will win after pulling in the Irish vote, tweeny vote and Diana fan vote. EDIT: I should add that by 'unpredictable' I don't mean good

It's still the public vote no matter how they manipulate it.Him saying her performance of Listen was one of the all time great X Factor performances, for me, is a great hint he knows she's capable of winning. |

That said, I think he would be content with a JLS win. But just now they are pushing heavily for Alexandra. In the final, I expect them to push for both and attempt to squeeze out Eoghan. |

Chucky from Childs Play has already won this by a mile. He only needs to turn up and it doesn't matter how awful he sings, he's the UK's xfactor winner 2008
He's got too many votes from the ones that pick up the phone |

Not a strong final but an unpredictable one imo..I really have no idea who is going win and wouldn't be shocked if either of the 3 won it, haven't said that before!
