Connect a computer to the TV - most modern sets have VGA sockets for that purpose.

And of course sign up to a broadband service if you haven't already got one, eg as part of the Sky subscription.

Do you mean Interactive?

You seem to be able to play games and gamble and check your bill if you have your box connected to the phone line. If you mean the proper internet then connect your PC to the TV.

a few years back, there were so called "internet boxes" which plugged into the phone line, and used the tv as the display. The box was a gateway to the internet in the same way a PC is, but (in theory) without the cost or complexity of a PC.

No idea how good they were, but I remember the name Netgem and I think Bush made their own one too.

used tv-internet on ntl stb for a good few years, £5 a month ,then in it's last year £7.50, it had it's limitations but was quite good for browsing and listing and/or watching t.v. at the same time (t.v. in the right top corner),watched mostly music channel's then. When they stopped their t.v.-internet i just used my local library ,usually got 2 hours if it was quiet(big library ,loads of computers)till i got used to using them, then splashed out for p.c. when i had the cash.If your mother really wants to use the internet that's the place i would recommend (library) they also do beginner courses for people wanting to use computers, keep her off the street corners night L.O.L. If she liked it ,maybe time to splash out for p.c. for all the family. Would'nt recommend those dial-up boxes that plug into phone & t.v.
