Austin the weakest and most overrated dancer
No rhythm and nothing special
Thank God Mr Smug got sent packing last week. I was so happy. He is the only dancer that never progessed as the weeks went by certainly not a deserving winner of SCD. If he won it would have been another Darren Gough. Tom or Rachel to win is fine by me

I disagree with you about him having no rhythm but I do think he was the least capable dancer of the four quarter finalists at this stage. He has had the least improvement from the start to end of the series, and aside from Lisa's first dance they all started off very well anyway. My main criticism of him is that he is very stiff.
Lisa must go next! |

I agree about him not progressing
in my opinion his best dances were his waltz and jive, both of which were danced early on he also appeared a bit 'tight' in the upper body and couldn't cross his legs properly I think it was right that he was in the final four but not to go any further |

Lisa must go next! Ok he does have a bit of rhythm but as you pointed out he is very stiff. Salsa dance was like he was dancing in slow motion. You can tell someone’s rhythm by the speed and fluidity they move. Austin’s dancing involved a lot of trickery and posturing. This was cleverly used to mask and limit his dancing. Perhaps he peeked too early? The problem with being the favourite is that you have to live up to the it and he fell along the road side. No thanks to his arrogance. I used to support him but his attitude made me switch to Tom. Oh and I support Rachel only because she is given a hard time on this forum for not having a personality. The same forum which lambasted JS for not dancing but only relying on his persona. |

What kind of person are for starting this thread. I understand that it is your right to start a topic of your choice, but to start a thread which is utterly wrong is completely stupid.

Austin has more rhythm in his body than any of the other rugby players that have ever been on SCD and he is a natural dancer, and I adore him!!!!!!!!!!!!
From Hayley If it wasn't for Craig and Arlene voting with like a couple of love-struck teens, he would have gone weeks ago. |

I think Austin was a good dancer but he peaked far too early. Its a shame, but the others were better on the night.

Tom or Rachel to win is fine by me ![]() I definitely was fearing a Gough repeat up until this weekend thank god for small mercies![]() It was obvious Austin wasn't 'all that' and luckily he finally got called out for it. He and Erin didn't have the chemistry that is needed to convincingly pull of a hot and steamy salsa (like Matt & Flavia last year....now that was sizzling ).I disagree with Tom or Rachel to win. My favourite for the trophy would be Lisa, following a Lisa/Rachel final. Tom hasn't improved that much either and his mimic-ing is getting on my nerves. I suspect Camilla will await a similar fate to last year's 'semi-exit' with Gethin. However I believe Tom is the most popular of the remaining couples so all could still change... Rachel's just a little too boring for my liking however technically sound (eventhough I would think Vincent deserves a trophy after he got robbed of a final place with Louisa few years back ).Lisa is the most improved, has great chemistry with Brendan and seems to be enjoying the strictly journey the most ![]() Go Lisa/Brendan

Rubbish.

Yeah, well seeing as the judges have consistently rigged the voting for a Tom / Rachel final, looks like you'll get your wish. do you realise how ridiculous you sound? Austin was a good dancer but that was it - he performed some times and others he didn't. Some dances suited him and others didn't. sometimes he had performance and technique and showmanship and other times he didn't (i.e Saturday, when both his dances were flat as a pancake!) |

Is there such a thing as 'peaking too early'?
What's wrong with starting well and being consistent throughout? Should everyone ensure their first dance is atrocious next year just so that they can have the 'journey' tag attached to them? |

I have to disgree with the op. I really enjoyed watching Austin dance, he had a real sense of fun when dancing the latin and a true gentlemanly quality when dancing ballroom. I cannot see anything to dislike.

There's a dampener on it now. |
