Sorry if already posted and is from the daily mail so take with a pinch of salt.

The X Factor is down to its last three acts, but there already appears to be a winner.
Boy band JLS are on the brink of signing a lucrative recording contract — even if they fail to win the talent show.
....
'They have an offer but are waiting to see what happens in the final. It could turn into a bidding war between record companies.'

Simon has first refusal on any act in the X factor.

He will sign them.

None of the finalist will need to win to get a record deal really - its just a title at the end of the day

True. However, if Eoghan doesn't win (here's hoping) then I doubt he will get a record contract.

This is most likely a ploy to stop JLS getting votes...

The Mail are so stupid. There will be no bidding war. JLS have to sign with Cowell if he makes an offer. That's in their X-Factor contract. Either that or they turn him down and have to wait 6 months before they can take another offer.

If other labels start offering JLS a contract, Cowell will know they are worth signing and sign them now. He needn't offer higher rates than the competition, either, as JLS would be unable to take up the competing offers.

Sure, they could wait 6 months and sign then, but that probably wouldn't be the smartest move for them. 6 months of doing nothing would hurt their chances of getting a decent album out in under a year.
