02 Sim Only for 20 quid a month
Dave_Gosport

I've been interested in getting this Sim Only offer for quite some time now, but I have 1 problem... I made myself bankrupt back in February.

I know its only a 30 day rolling contract and i'm putting about 20-30 quid a month on my Pay as you Go phone with 02 anyway.

Would I be accepted if I was to ring up and go through the process of ordering it as its not a 12/18 month contract?

Thanks in advance.

The only reason is for the 600 free anytime minutes to other networks as i have a few mates on other networks.

You get 600 mins, 1000 texts plus one of 7 extras to choose from, such as unlimited calls to O2 mobiles or unlimited landline calls, or unlimited weekend calls to any network etc etc. When my T-Mobile contracts are up in Feb i'm moving over to O2.

This http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=5023 would appear to imply that the credit check is just as strict for sim only as for 18 month contracts. That is vodafone so O2 may be different.

You should go on Vodafone 600mins, unlimited texts and unlimited calls to 4 vodafone numbers for £20 per month and then once you've had it a month put in your 30 days notice and they will call you back and offer your the above for £12.50 per month on a 12 month contract with just the sim

Yes, this post http://forum.o2.co.uk/viewtopic.php?...b30896d82d15b2 would appear to suggest Orange don't credit check for Sim only, and offer a route into a regular contract.

They do the 600mins/ unlimited txts thing for 20 quid, or you can have 500 mins, 100 txts and unlimited landline calls.

Orange do indeed credit check for SIM Only deals, it is an easier one to pass than a full contract but there is still a credit check.

I shoved a o2 sim card for a first time properlly in my my phone and I am amazed at the 2G and 3G transition while in a phone call, as on 3 I was always disconnected in the transition, but never on o2.

You shouldnt be disconnected on any network when changing over. Its nothing special because o2 dont disconnect.

Well with 3 they switch to the Orange network when switching, a totally different network, I've used 2 different phones and 2 different SIM cards and when switching from 3G to 2G in a middle of a call, the call always disconnects and can take about 5 seconds to get a 3G siginal.

Quick question on the subject of the o2's £20 package, at what point does o2 take the first payment? Straight away or after 30days?
