VOTING.

Is it a waste of our time and money when the judges can ignore the public vote and over mark who THEY want in.

How many times should someone be saved if the public are not voting for them.

Is this a judges choice or a public choice?

Are we being milked by the greedy BBC?

They dont even support a charity now?

What do you think ?

Last nail in the coffin of SCD?

Casper 1066 - the voice of reason

I do rather resent the money I have spent voting.

I don't vote as ultimately if someone gets knocked out or stays in it does not change my life. I just watch it for a bit of entertainment on a Saturday/Sunday night.

And presumably were roundly ignored/sent a pro-forma response as usual? The only way to get the Beeb to take notice is to get the Daily Mail to run a campaign. The only way to do that is to involve a Beeb employee who gets paid more than their journalists.

I will

Last year they just e-mailed me back saying the dance-off was based on their best dance alone so the judges needed to vote on Gethin's Paso. Totally ignoring the point I was making

Realisticly, you must have had some idea of what was going to happen before you voted. Why bother voting in the first place if all your going to do is get in a huff about it. To be fair, the judges are there to save the best dancer in the dance off, and they have done so every week...

If you're going to complain about anything, it should be about having a dance off in the quarter and semi-finals, which does - in some respects - make public voting (for those at the bottom at least) null and void.

*prepares for backlash*

I've complained about the use of the dance-off at all.

Yes it is. Their job is the save the better dancer. She has been the better dancer on the night in all three scenarios. I'm not a L&B fan by any means, but I can understand why they're still in the competition based on talent.

I agree with that bit. But it shouldn't just be about talent. Why have a public vote at all. Did they expect us to agree with the judges week after week?

I agree and if they ignore the publics votes yet again this week then I think many will feel the same way. The dance-off should no longer be needed at this stage. The X Factor producers leave it up to the public towards the end of the competition so the same should happen in Strictly Come Dancing. What is the point in voting if the judges are going to ignore the public vote?

Yes, it is their job, within the current format of the show.

They judge on the dancing and they have the final say after the public vote.

Those are the rules of the game..

To keep them out of the bottom 2 - not to guarantee them a place the following week.

The Daily Star love this sort of thing or better yet the Daily Mail who seem to have it in for the BBC at the moment.

I think it's just the public vote this week. No doubt someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

..because it would make an absolute nonsense of their judging from a 'professional' perspective if they suddenly changed tack because of the public vote, which is in some cases, driven by other then purely 'dancing' ability.
