She couldn't really say that - because it wasn't.

I'm not a huge Erin fan, but I do think she has the ability to tailor her training to her celeb's ability, (think Willie Thorne and Peter Schmeichel) - until the latter stages of the competition when her choreographic skills seem to desert her - as with Colin and now Austin.

Still wasn't nice to see her so upset.

I felt so sorry for Erin on ITT tonight, it was really sad watching her be so upset.

I've liked Erin ever since series 1, she's always got the very best out of her partners and I really hope she is back next year, Strictly wouldn't be the same without her.

No one is indispensable; not the pros nor the judges.

Imo, it was. Austen has consistently outperformed Lisa.

The judges decision was pre-meditated, and everyone (waits for backlash) knows it.

So 33's old now. I'm 17 and even I can see that's not old.

Don't be so sadistic.

The judges base it on the dance off, don't they? In that case the result was right. On all other levels I agree - it was wrong.

I honestly cannot see how you can suggest that Austin outperformed Lisa on Saturday; on other occasions yes - but Saturday - no, nay, never. That is of course my opinion and there will be many who disagree with me.

And surely the fact that he has outperformed Lisa in the past is irrelevant - the test came on Saturday and he failed to deliver (imo).

Why on earth should consideration be given to past performance - the competitors are only as good as their last performance: much like the FA Cup or the Champions League; a footie team could win their quarter final by 5 or 6 goals, but come the next round it's back to square one and all to play for.

Austin & Erin were never my proper faves, but I thought he was a charming funny guy and his partnership with Erin was so lovely-I cried at his thank you's on Sunday and nearly blubbed again when I saw Erin and him on ITT. When a real friendship is formed it is always sad-because spending all that time on that unique special journey together is over-but I hope Erin and him remain friends and she baby sits again!!

Erin hasn't looked better or younger IMO. (I will go and watch her and Anton when they come to my city-a good chance Austin might be in the audience too! lol)

I think Austin had the potential to win, but the mistake he made was not to factor REST into his schedule. I was shocked at how utterly exhausted he looked on Saturday. To see a superfit sportsman bent double gasping for breath was quite alarming. I really felt for him and I am NOT a fan of Austin. I think he pushed himself too hard and eventually he couldn't go on.

That's correct. Anything that has gone before that single dance is irrelevant.

Had something happened to her on monday during the day? Claudia kinda hinted at it, something that was more than being voted off the show 2 days previously.

I got that impression. Like something had happened on the Sunday/Monday that had upset her too. I hope she's okay.

I was so upset for Erin yesterday. I was moved to tears especially when they showed Camilla upset too. I just got the feeling that this may be her last SCD. I hope it isn't because she is an absolute joy to watch. I felt very sad for her.

Well if Erin is old then Matt C, Anton, Karen, Ian and Camilla must be ancient.

I know they said a few oldies might get the boot but I don't think they meant by age. I would safely say the Jordans are set for the chop after 3 years.

It is never a pleasure to see someone that upset on TV, and I hope that she realises what support she has and will be consoled by that.

When she talked about her horrible weekend, I too had the distinct impression that something else was up... I was wondering if Anton may have called it a day, since he always gets lumbered with the older/clumsier celeb women, and since he seems to have branched out into other tv work. Not sure if that would mean Erin would drop out, too, which means that was her last stab at winning the show...
Then again, maybe she was devestated by her sudden hairloss...

I would have thought losing out at this stage of the competition when she had such a good chance of finally winning is more than enough reason for having had a terrible weekend. Whether the decision to retire has been finally made or not, she is getting married, may want to have a family soon and the reality is that this was probably her last shot at winning SCD. Even if she came back next year the law of SCD seems to be that she would get a duffer for the next 1 to 2 years.

This is quite right, according to the current rules. And according to the current rules, it's quite right that Austin went on Sunday.

However, the problem is that SCD is a "journey" - wash yer mouth out with soap, Gorlagon! - and viewers invest in their favourites over a period of months. This is what engages them, and this is what makes the show a success, surely? If the system ends up pushing out viewer favourites and forcing others, who aren't always the best performers over the long haul, into the final, then it will create this furore of fix conspiracies in the short term and cause viewers to switch off in the long term. That's how I see it.

No, we don't want John Sergeant winning. But we don't want viewer favourites turfed out either. The balance was out BEFORE the dance off, but it's out WITH the dance off too. And it's all about balance.

I'd favour dance offs until the last five or six, then revert to the previous system after that.

I welled up for poor Erin too!

She would never choose to leave as she loves Strictly too much. I guarantee you that! I'm sure she'll be asked back as they are the only ballroom couple, she's been consistently successful and also because of the Anton factor.

Well this is just a guess so please nobody ask where i got my facts from, but going by some of the nastier comments on here, there might of been similar ones on the bbc forums blaming Erin for crap dance routines. If after being voted out reading that, i think i would find that rather upsetting.

I cried when she did, as her emotions got to me. But i am annoyed as Tom and Austin are the only 2 never 2 be in the bottom 2, yet the cantdonothingwrong Rachel Stevens and Lisa have been there plenty of times. The judges said the Waltz was perfect but to be honest thats an easy dance compared to Latin dances, imo.

I agree with you. It wasn't perfect at all. The first time she danced it, she lost her balance and wobbled at least 3 times. There was gapping. And viewing it again, I don't think I spotted a single heel turn - it was all flat footed. Nice waltz by all means, but not great, and disappointing at this stage of the competition.

I have to say I now understand why all the Gethin fans were so upset last year. I suspect Camelia knows who Erin feels - it must be absolutely gutting to go from being the bookie's favourite to win to being out of the competition especially since I don't think Austin's eviction was fair and can understand why Gethin's fans felt the same even if I didn't share their opinion.

Seeing ITT reminded you that Erin and Austin seemed to one of the few couples where you really felt they were close and had a strong bond with each other. Like Matt and Alesha last year and Ian and Jodie this year you have a feeling they'll be friends for life.

I`ve always liked Erin very much. She has a certain dignity about her that I appreciate.
Not hard at all, just a no-nonsense type of female.

Sorry to hear she was so upset

ps. Her ballroom gowns are always exquisite
