Hi guys,

apologies if there is already a thread on this - I had a look but couldnt see anything.

I didn't get to catch the results show last nite and heard the results before I got to watch it on iplayer so I didn't watch. My mum says Lisa made some sort of comment about Austin cheating because he was winking and making faces at the judges (or something along those lines)

What was actually said? And was she joking or being serious?

She was joking!

The whole section there was tongue in cheek.

Wish you lot would change the record and stop looking for things that dont exist soyou can make an issue out of them.

It is a reality show, Saturday night entertainment

We all have to sit through repetitive negative threads about our favourites - John Sergeant was mine and he was crucified on here!

To answer to the OP - Lisa was merely joking.

I was more put off by Brendan's insinuation that Austin didn't deserve his high marks when Lisa had been awarded 33 for a woeful Jive!

There was a thread, but, as the responses all protested unanimously - and rightly - that Lisa's remark was (obviously!) tongue-in-cheek, the OP deleted it.

Actually I agree with you Sid. I think Lisa's comment in the vt was tongue in cheek. However, she did agree with Brendan about the bad hip action (probably because she was trully scared that she would go out). I honestly believe that they went through on merit on the night (it was the better dance), but from a personal point of view they certainly went down in my estimation (and before I get any people accusing me of not liking them, I have defended both Brendan and Lisa on here before, I had even warmed to Brendan lately), but their little rant behind the scenes was childish.

She was joking, though you're thread title implies that she actually did accuse Austin Healey of cheating.

Well done.

She wanted to be a comedien before she was scouted by a modelling agency and she is a funny lady with a great sense of humour. She was joking

I think Lisa was simply trying to calm Brendan down, and it wasn't clear exactly what she was talking about anyway. It seems the people involved in the show were pleased Brendan reacted the way he did - and I didn't see much wrong with his behaviour, he didn't shout and he wasn't aggressive to anyone. He went away to be alone. Erin and Vincent cry, some show no emotion and Brendan is wound up after his performances. The show needs a bit of variety and all the dancers are good friends and understand each other.

Not a bad sport, just having an opinion that differs from yours

I've commended her Waltz numerous times, but I found the Jive bounce-free, untidy and under-rehearsed.

That's better than woeful, which could've meant a multitude of bad things. imo there wasn't much wrong with it other than the lack of bounce. I thought the timing was spot on, the performance was there and considering it was one of two dances she had to learn in a week it was nicely done. But i think we're in the wrong thread for this

I thought the waltz was lovely, and was sad for Austin that he had to do his salsa against it in the dance off.

What Lisa said in the VT was plainly a joke-however to be utterly fair, her comments about needing perfect hip action in the salsa in response to Brendans comments on dances not deserving tens were poor sportsmanship.

People can ignore that all they want, which surprises me on this board!! lol, but that is what the majority of the public saw and heard, her dissing another dancers scores, and unfortunately her ill advised moan with Brendan won't do her any favours.

I think she should have bit her tongue- her dancing has vastly improved and frankly it was pointless anyway-she had her waltz for the dance off so why fret?

Maybe no one will remember-though the helpful recap will undoubtedly jog memories next week. Shame really.

Peace.

I agree, for her jive to score higher than Rachel's, Christine's & Jodie's really did shock me

Here is the clip.
I think Austin's Salsa was worse than his AS, so I can understand Brendans anger. I see it as Lisa trying to calm him down.

She was joking!!!! It really, really was a joke!!! How anyone could have taken it seriously beats me. Anyway Lisa obviously isn't the type to do a fellow contestant down, she's lovely.

Cheers for the link, , I have already seen it quite a few times, and sorry but her comments were not trying to calm him down, in fact, the more I watch it, the worse I feel, as it is plain that she did not finish what she intended to say-because Erin walked past them right then, Lisa's face tells it all. She was agreeing, and was rightly or wrongly saying that Austins salsa didn't have perfect hip action-in response to Brendans ten rage, and her own-"I didn't have the perfect jive action -trails off to some nothing comment.

As Erin walked by immediately and interrupted we shall never know what Lisa was going to say, or how grateful she should be for the timely reminder of where they were.

Wish we had not seen it if I am honest. Makes me feel bad for them all, not nice to be caught when feeling annoyed on camera, or to be the one being commented on.

It probably was a joke and it probably was tongue-in-cheek, but it was in extremely bad taste and did give off the odour of jealousy a little. It was a very odd comment to make as joke, that's for sure, and I thought so at the time.

But let's give her the benefit of the doubt, eh?

And before anyone leaps on me for being a "Lisa-basher" (or any other such inflamatory term), take time to look at my previous posts and you'll see I've never said a thing against her! I just did find that remark a little off, particularly to a World class sportsman!

Probably just a case of foot in mouth, though. I bet she regrets it now.

.

I heard her explaining to Brendan that no if you don't have perfect salsa action you shouldn't get top marks but if you don't have perfect jive action you shouldn't have top marks either. While she said this it was clear that she did not think that her jive action was perfect.

I think Lisa handles Brendan's strops really well, if anything I like her more after this weekend.

I think it is one of those cases where the words can be construed differently by us all. It is just my opinion after all which I should have said!!lol.

I don't think it will hugely impact the end result-I think Lisa is an attractive charismatic lady, and her words -or my understanding of them-haven't made me want to get a pitch fork or anything... but I just wonder why we were shown the clip? Why show Lisa saying anything at all, they could have easily edited it with her just saying we'll dance again I'm scared too etc...

Anyhow, I wish all three couples luck-whatever they say-what they do with their feet matters more to me!

Well-most of the time!
