Hello,

I'm trying to think of ideas for cool bag food as we are driving UK France and are stopping over and unsure if there will be any hot food.

Not being the best of cooks and not very adventurous I'm hoping you good people can give me a few ideas apart from the obvious cheese, sausage rolls, chicken peices....

thanks

Wraps! I love wraps in my packed lunches.

Take a couple of packs of tortilla wraps (they do all kinds - seeded ones, plain white, ones with herbs in - look near the bread sections in the supermarket) and take spreadable things like cream cheese, pate (meat or veggie), hummous, chutney, a jar of roasted peppers, a bag of salad leaves, some sliced cheese, some chicken bits, and then make up your own wraps. I spread something all over first, and then spread some leaves or other solid thing and then roll up - loads of combinations> I like cream cheese with salad leaves, or chutney with ham, or chutney with ham and cheese, or pate with salad leaves, or cream cheese with jam... there are a million possibilities.

You could always make up lots before you go, because they are very un-messy to eat, but I think for a long trip I'd take all the bits and make them up as you go.
