People who say Alexandra hasn't got a personality?
![]() Seriously, she may not be the most bubbly person ever on the show, but when you compare it to some contestants this year. She has a good personality, she is likeable, funny and I love it when she gets excited on stage and starts stamping her feet

I think she has a big personality but that she's rather irritating and dislikeable. And is getting more so each week

She seems to have more a personality than, for example, Leona. On the VT's she always comes across as energetic and enthusiastic, and we keep hearing from the judges about how nice she is.

I think she's really bubbly, down to earth and genuine- her and Ruth have made this years X Factor fun to watch- they're both lovely
Can't understand why people find Alex irritating, but each to their own i guess..!

How anyone can say she doesn't have a personality is beyound me. She is funny, bubbly, always happy, laughing, smiling
she makes me smile (like Diana does) people like Alex/Diana are the type of people who I like, and who I am mates with, people you can have a laugh with. Now boring, miserable, moaning old farts I don't like no offance to any on here, lol only joking ![]() I like happy people, and Alex is a very happy person, I really like her, hope she wins

She's very likeable, I don't see why people have problems with her personality.

I've met Alexandra and had a nice chat with her, and she really is lovely.
Hopefully winning the X Factor won't change her

I think Alex has a wicked personality!!. She's so sweet and funny and always sooo happy
She has the most amazing smile too..her eyes just light up when she gets excited about things like meeting Mariah and stuff The judges always say about how lovely a person she is backstage etc..and she always comes across as so much fun on the Xtra factor..always up for a laugh and that....like her little dance on Sat night when she made it though to the final ....... im getting carried away here i'll stop now![]()

It wasn't that there was no personality that was the problem, she clearly does. Her voice and her personality never came together on stage and made her performances quite boring. However, something clicked during Toxic, and later Listen. Now her personality his definitely coming through in her performances

It doesnt come ove rin her performances though.
She managed to make Toxic, Candyman and even Dont Stop the Music, dull. |

She certainly has a personality - an annoying, self-obsessed one.

I like Alexandra, she has lots of stage presence and a lively personality which is emulated in her performances on stage, but on post-track interviews I get the feeling she's trying to make a point by overdoing the energetic aspect of her character to be seen as more interesting when she doesn't need to do this at all. So it's counter-productive because it comes off as melo-dramatic and thus makes her seem fake.
She's already far more interesting than the majority of X Factor acts over the years. |

Along with Ruth, Alex had the best personality this year (or any other year). She has a good balance between being funny but also caring & friendly as she seems to get on with everyone in the house.

This was something that Simon said after a couple of weeks knowing full well it wasn't the case. He didn't say it the first week, he asked Louis to apologise for not having put her through three years ago. Unfortunately Diana became the chosen one and so the strongest competition (i.e. the contestant/s who would improve the most as the series went on) had to be undermined ASAP. Simon (and any of the judges in any of these shows really) knows that if he says something negative about a contestant, that contestant's detractors will cling to it forever more and if he says something positive that contestant's supporters will do the same. Things changed as soon as it became clear that Diana was not and not going to be anywhere near as good as they hoped she would be, but the "damage" had already been done and that comment could still come back to bite him whether Alexandra wins or not.

I'm not sure if 'personality' is the right word, but I think what most are referring to is how bland her voice is, even though she's technically great. There have been exceptions - 'Listen' obviously - but generally, I've found her performances to be a little forgettable.
