My now defunct Video/DVD combo player broke at the weekend. Its main purpose was to provide a video channel to the other tvs in the house. This video channel was permanently set to the satellite feed. So we could watch the satellite on the other televisions.

Now Ive bought a DVD Recorder and wish it function again as a relay for the satellite channel. However it doesnt seem to function this way - the DVD Recorder displays the satellite picture through AV1 and not the analogue Video Channel that acted as a loop.

My question is : Do new DVD Recorders allow for this looping possibility?

-As an aside the analogue display of 1-5 & satellite picture for the DVD Recorder is stored through AV1.

as long as your new dvd recorder has a "rf modulator" it should be able to do exactly the same as your old vcr/dvd combi did...

if it doesnt, you could always go for one of these: http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?moduleno=33050

allowing you to broadcast satellite signal to all other tv's using your coaxil cables already in place.

what kind of satellite box are you using? most (including sky boxes) have a rf modulator built in anyway?

Thanks for the reply, its a SKY box and it does as you say have an rf modulator (as does the new DVD player) so it sounds like Ive connected it up wrongly...

I'll have another look thought Im pretty sure I connected the setup the same as I did with the old DVD/Vid combo player; the leads were already in place.
