JLS=1K+ Eóghan7,000+?
Both home comings today Eóghan had at least 7 times more people in a city with a smaller population than were JLS where.
Strange but true! |

No, strange but inaccurate! JLS played in 1700 seater arena and ALL the tickets were snapped up. Eoghan was at an outdoor venue.
PS Belfast Telegraph says 5000! Last edited by carnoch04 : 09-12-2008 at 03:39. Reason: Added PS |

PS Belfast Telegraph says 5000! Believe me there were 7,000 at least at it. The main square holds 3,000 although it was overly packed, they also had the ajoining "waterloo" square with a giant screen which is bigger and was also packed.Every side street and behind the stage had maybe 700 as well. PS Belfast telegragh is a kind of anti- Derry type of paper! Listen to the words to this! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=GnaUL8OpBck |

I wasn't disputing the numbers really. Just saying you can't compare an open air venue with a limited ticket event.
It's like saying Blackburn Rovers are more popular than Man U because they had a bigger crowd at Ewood than United did at Shrewsbury. Not a fair comparison. |

But why could they not do what Eóghan did and play at an outdoor venue, or where they not confident enough to get a big enough crowd at an outdoor venue which would look good? |

You seem to be determined to paint JLS in a bad light. I am 100% sure THEY didn't pick the venue. They are popular enough to be in the final and the only numbers that count are the votes on Saturday.
(I don't mind who wins BTW, Diana was my winner) |

(I don't mind who wins BTW, Diana was my winner) BTW Diana was also my favorite and I still don't think Eóghan is good enough to be anywhere near the final. I know I seem to be defending him but I'm actually not. Read my posts from before tonight and you will see I'm not an Eóghan fan. It's the racist type remarks about2Derry/Dungiven from some people that I don't like. Not yourself though. |

I don't think Eoghan is good enough for the final really but there we go.
To be honest though, Diana has lost something since her throat problems. She was good last week but the elusive "x factor" was still missing. She was such a stand out in the early rounds, it's a shame she lost her way somewhere. |

And i also think Simon wanted her to go this week so JLS could sing with Louis band boyzone he could hardly get rid of Alex because of who she is due to sing with and he wont get rid of his own act. i think Sharon made a comment about this last year when he said one of her acts sang the song lovely but he does not like the song and sharon said he was playing the public because he wanted her out. And going by what his ex said in the papers last week her versio of the winners single was the best so maybe once she was heard singing that she would have won and i also noticed after white flag he did not even clap her. I think Sinitta has said loads of times his last act should not make the final Diana should of but she has gone now and hopefully she will be signed up by someone i dont think Simon will he only ever signs the last 3 acts never signs the person who came 4th or has not up until yet |

I think Simon still controls them though. At least until after the tour is done. I wouldn't expect any other company to be allowed to sign Diana til next summer at the earliest.

Eoghan is currently nothing more than a novelty act and is not ready yet the finished product! can you see him filling arena's? with 20,000 ticket sales?
But does it matter? as long as one man makes his money, he can drop the artist as quickly as they are picked up! |

Me thinks there is a bit of media manipulation this morning..headlines on GMTV re JLS crush....GMTV being an ITV1 programme - no coincidence there. They reported 5k fans for a venue that only holds 200 ! I think someone is milking this with the media to cause a media stir and projecting JLS as potential teen heart throbs. Eoghan could have had 10,000 people in Derry last night for all I know, but the headlines this morning are certainly for JLS.
