Figures of homecoming?
I've read in a thread people said Eoghan had 7,000 people and JLS around 2,000... does anyone know who got the most out of the three and what they each got, and if possible, how many people Alexandra got. Cheers.

There's another thread about this that I was going to reply to, but I'll do it on this one instead.
Comparing the fact that Eggnog pulled 7000+ to much smaller numbers for Alex and JLS is ridiculous really, because Egg was at an outside venue, and the other two had limited capacity inside venues. Alex was in a nightclub!! You're not comparing like with like Additionally, the whole 'Northern Ireland' factor kicks in - with everyone pitching up because its the hometown boy coming back home etc. It's not the same for the other two, because they come from 'London' - and you're not going to get the whole of London coming out in the same way. It's just not as much of a special thing as it was for the little village where Eggboy came from - where nothing exciting has ever happened before. It would have been interesting to see what they had provisionally planned for Diana. I suspect it would have been a concert in King Georges Hall, the main concert venue in Blackburn. It holds about 1800 people. Would people then say that Diana is 'less popular' than Eggnog?? |

I know they said the place where Alex had hers would hold 1500 + people and there where loads of people outside aswell on the red carpet ( which means they didnt fit in ) The DS member who went to her event didnt get it because it was packed so looks like she had a good turnout JLS one just looked like about 5 schools organised to all go together and it looked crazy I suppose it depended on the venue size like you said Eoghans was outside |

The same thing happened on American Idol. Jordin Sparks came from New York, she only had a few hundred at her homecoming, whereas Blake Lewis came from a small town and had loads of people there as he was the "local boy done good". Of course Jordin Sparks won.
And to shoot down Cheryl's constant whine about Diana, "she's only a young girl, she's only 17", so was Jordin Sparks when she won American Idol and she didn't get special treatment beforehand. |
