I think one of reasons which made the dance especial was the music and that dress Lisa wore.

The whole peformance reminded me of Mark and Karen VW. That coming from me is the biggest compliment I can give to any couple, comparing them to Mark and Karen is huge.

I agree - and yet another fabulous dress. It just shows how important getting every detail right can make all the difference.

For me there would be more WOW dances this series if different music had been chosen.

Absolutely, I think the music is crucial in somewayS even more important than the dancing itself. Take for example the Argentine Tango that Mark and Karen performed to Golden Eye.

I thought that was genius and fully believe the dance would not had that dramatic build up if a more soft traditional music was used.

In different contrast Alesha and Matt AT could have been so much better if they had not used that horrible Evita song. So in this extremely important semi final it’s crucial that they get the music right.

Indeed the music has to be right. Also the 'wow' factor is created by musicality, ease of execution and timing. (This is what Alesha excelled in) Not necessarily military precision of footwork (which some might say Rachel excels in).

So the viewers at home are seeing all these 10's for non-wow factor dances, which is making the show look a bit daft. They should mark down for non-wow factor dances, even if there isn't a foot put out of place.

The professionals will need to choreograph something very special for the semi-final – I suspect they will go for broke in search of the elusive wow-factor dance – really breathtaking and exciting choreography, music and outfits to wow the judges, studio audience - and thereby the public vote - in order to make the final.

The professionals will not just be looking for 10s … they will be wanting standing ovations … the sign of that rare and elusive wow-factor dance.

Camilla came so close last series - she could almost taste the final - she will not want to miss out again, Vincent seems more fervently and resolutely focussed than ever, and Brendan will be absolutely explosive in his total determination to reach the final.
I think (and hope) we can expect something very special this Saturday.

I think there have been some wow dances, but it all really depends on personal taste anyway. I mean I know Mark and Karen's AT is hailed as a wow dance, but for me, it does nothing.

I have had that tingling feeling after Rachel's Rumba and Waltz, and after Lisa's VW, Foxtrot and Waltz, as well as Austin's jive. I'm one of those who doesn't really think his paso was all that much of a paso to deserve the marks it did, but I can also see how that might go down with a lot of people as a wow dance.

I reckon these things just take time to accrue their WOW status, and some dances that seem WOW at the time might lose their popularity/lustre when a new one comes along.

Well I thought RV's rhumba deserved four 10's.

As do I. It's my favourite dance ever on Strictly, I think.

No wow dances for me, although Rachel's Rhumba was very close and Lisa's VW was also very beautiful. Austin's Paso was entertaining and I enjoyed it a lot, but didn't I didn't want to watch it straight away as soon as it finished, or again and again.

I didn't even think Jill and Darren's jive was that good. I'm fed up with hearing about it on ITT every season.

I supposed if we want to be wowed then we shouldn't watch pro-am couples. Just watch professionals instead.
