hi guys. wonder if anyone can help me. i have a 42" toshiba regza lcd telly. its 18 months old, and about a month or so ago it began displaying a thin vertical black line that runs from top to bottom of the screen right in the centre of the screen.

its almost as if a whole line of pixels is out. sometimes it is darker than others; but always there. if i turn the tv off (instead of standby) when it goes back on again the line is gone for a while, but always returns within half an hour or so.

does anyone know what this could be? or how to solve it? or if its something i cant do myself can an engineer solve it, or would a call out be a waste of time as the screen is dead?

i have tried "massaging" the pixels, but this doesnt make any difference.

any advice would be appreciated.

thanks.

It's almost certainly a dead LCD panel - I would suggest consulting the dealer you bought it from, or contacting Toshiba.
