Please, much as I love Austin's personality (lots of people don't I know in this forum), I hope they will NOT grope him or ask him to take off his shirt!

Totally! I was gutted Emma Bunton joined the show ... she's too good for it!

For some reason I think that his appearance on this show must have been arranged weeks ago. Unfortunately, it just happens to be on the week after thay were not saved - THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN SAVED!!!!

Less of the old please. Just because you're young doesn't mean that the rest of the forum is. That's a very ageist remark.

What a nice interview. I hope others manage to see it as Austin came over as a genuine person, very caring and not at all smug.

Interestingly he wants Tom to win but with Rachel against him - reading between the lines I think he finds the Lisa/Brendan combination too aggressively competitive.

I was reading between the lines too and I agree with you. He was asked about who he wants to win and he very willingly told them, also volunteering that he would like to see Rachel and Tom in the final - pointedly leaving out Lisa....very telling.

I'm glad other people noticed him leaving out Lisa.

I wish Lisa had a different partner. Brendan brings out the worst in her.

A lovely interview, just a very nice chap. He said he will be there on saturday night supporting Tom, perhaps the show will be worth watching after all.

Maybe he is bitter at being voted out against her in the dance off. I can understand why he supports Tom as they seem to have become good friends, but did he say why he wanted Rachel in the final over Lisa?

He said he would like Tom to win and was reluctant to mention another as there are only 3 left.
He said Tom didn‘t take himself too seriously…nor does Rachel….and then he said he would like a Tom/Rachel final.

He didn't actually say that was the reason though

Goodness, to me it looks like Rachel takes herself waaaaaay too seriously but that's just my perception.

This is one of the first celebrities who hasn't said they want Lisa to win, so I wouldn't attach too much siginificance to Austin not naming her. I wouldn't have done it in his place, leave one out. Maybe he is still gutted at being eliminated and subconsciously blames her in some way.

He gets on really well with brendan, he taught him some of the jive steps. So I thought it was even more telling, I got the impression he thought Lisa was false, he kept empahsising how natural Tom and Rachel were.

Loved that interview, glad to see him back to normal and he was totally adorable in a completely terrified way!

Thought that Austin came over very well in that interview genuine bloke ......said he's been married for 10 years and never thought he would find another female friend (ie Erin).

When voted out of Strictly it leaves a massive hole in your life because it just STOPS......
He's become much more open and expressive generally because of it....
He dosen't think about what some women think about when they look at him,he's been married 10 yrs and dosen't see himself that way........he only did Strictly because his daughters nagged him.
Looks at his wife not as she's 36 but as she is still 21....awww.

Want's Tom to win and him and Rachel in the final...

I wish those women (well two of them today)wouldn't be all silly though when they see an attractive bloke i find all the fawning quite embarassing and Austin obviously isn't into any of that........he said he was quite relieved to have got through the interview.

Nice guy

Actually he did sort of explain Rachel........he said he wanted Tom to win because he is a great guy who doesnt take himself too seriously and then said like Rachel. So he obviously thinks unlike many I have to say that Rachel is NOT serious and up herself I am glad he picked on one of the girls to support too.

Brendan actually said he wanted an Austin/Tom final although that would mean he and Lisa weren't in it any more, which wouldn't be good either - so I think the three of them got on well together. It does seem to be a particularly nice and supportive atmosphere this year - a pity the forums do not reflect this.
I thought Austin seemed quite shy. I suppose it is a very duanting situation.

I recalled Brian's backstage report when they showed Austin doing the Salsa move in front of the judges, Brendan was mirroring it opposite him, presumbly to 'teach' him how to really let go at that moment.
