easy, reasonbly cheap to make cocktail?
im having a friend round on saturday night, will be the first time she's had a night out since her baby was born 3 months ago, so we're having a drink and hubby is playing chaufer lol. was wondering if anyone knew any nice coctails - not the premade ones though - we could have to make it a festive occasion lol. quite fancy the idea of a simple champagne cocktail. she's a malibu and lemonade drinker, and im a gin and soda / v.a.t drinker, but i fancy something a wee bit different ...

Bellinis and Cosmopolitans are fab. If you want something festive though, I really love a Poinsettia: small measure triple sec/Cointreau in the bottom of champagne glass, add about 1/3-1/2 glass cranberry juice and stir, then top up with champagne or fizzy wine. It's Christmassy and fizzy and it doesn't have to be lethally alcoholic if you don't want it to.

Screw driver - OJ and Vodka
Pina colada - Non alcoholic pineapple and coconut mix (or use fresh) and white rum, add more Malibu for an extra kick. Brandy Alexander - Brandy and cream, topped with nutmeg Blue Lagoon - Blue Curacao and lemonade. You can add Gin to the mix Midori and Lemonade or apple juice Cherry Brandy and lemonade |
