Although he looked bad against Rhydian. Yeh anyway, He did have a good voice, where as Eoghan's is just weak and you could actually hear Leon's last year. Compared to him, Leon sounds amazing imo

Whilst I agree strongly with what you're saying...
Barring Hope, last year didn't seem to have such loud backing tracks - this year there seems to be an over reliance on them |

Sorry I am still laughing!! I think Leon's voice is very weak, although admittedly Eoghan does make him sound world class, both obviously nice lads but the talent is not there for me at all.

When ever I see Eoghan doing on of his "big production dance numbers" .. I think I've switched onto the Children's Royal Variety performance.
I just can't take him seriously as a mainstream performer, recording albums and appearing on TV shows that will be aired after 5.00pm |

I'd say you've got to laugh at Mr Jackson and Master Quigg's both having made it into the final given the complete dearth of vocal ability and charisma there is there.
If you don't laugh, you'll cry. |

After hearing Eoghan's high notes and low notes and general ability to perform and sing - I don't think there is any competition. Eoghan is a lot better. Eoghan just needs to work on an image.

He's never going to be anything like as technically gifted as Alex, but then you don't have to be, most singers aren't. |

Why would he need to? There's absolutely no reason why an act has to appeal to the 'mainstream', if he has a successful career as a kid's performer then good luck to him, they're consumers too.

Leon was the true underdog...and the best of a bad bunch last year. However, this year we've had many good talents leave the competition, Laura and Ruth are the main ones. And if Eoghan wins it will be the worst of a good bunch this year.

Still, I'd contend that you could pick out each note perfectly well in any time you need a friend or the george michael song (which I thought was boring, but sung decently enough). It's easy to watch the performances again and identify the exact places where each contestant goes out of tune. He's certainly not the most gifted singer technically and a lot of people may not like his sound, but he's not the horrendous singer that people who're totally biased against him always make out to be, he doesn't go through entire songs out of tune like they suggest - he's like all of the acts, he hits a bum note every now and then, which really isn't the end of the world. |

I thought Leon was on the same playing field as Andy Williams and that's no great compliment. |

Such a funny thread title - Leon was out of tune EVERY single week last year. What isn't funny is that the pre-pubescent vote got the numpty the title in the end, which is clearly going to happen again this year with Mr Fuzzy Felt.
Shame. |

There is somthing about Eoghans voice i do not like. I think he is a lovely lad , and i do not really say bad things about any of the contestants , but he somtimes get this very awful tone to his voice. Sounds a bit like Kermit the frog
![]() Lovely lad though im sure ! ![]() Oh and i thought Leon' voice was good

Another epidemic of arrogance. People don't like Leon, Eoghan or whoever, and that means that only their opinion is right.
Leon doesn't have a bad voice and anyway, it's unfair to compare him to Rhydian, who is a completely different genre. Eoghan is just 16 years old, and he's not my cup of tea, but he has potential, and people obviously like him. |

I thought Leon was terrible, sorry.
And I like Eoghan's voice more...A poor Michael Buble voice does nothing for me really. |

Poeple here have very short memories. I didn't vote at all last year but Leon definately outsang Rhydian on 'When You Believe'. Rhydian may have a big voice but Leon's was very good as well and most importantly he improved with each passing week. When he sang the last song so well not only did it surprise many people but it was the perfect ending to the underdog's story. That's why he won.
